BJ had a restful night. His swelling in his face is down enough to actually see his eyes slightly...haven't seen them for days. His ventilator pressures are down, and his sats remain in the 90's! Praise God!!!

His kidneys are still failing...not a total surprise, but they need to begin to function.

Last night Dr. Sichting said she was proud of him, and that he did not require any meds during surgery (for blood pressure, or heart rate, etc.), which she did not expect. She even stated that he keeps surprising them! Oops! She just stopped by to say that he looks great and is doing well. She said she hopes that we will see smooth sailing for awhile (I wonder what that would be like). She added, "He needs to cut us some slack for awhile."

A plastic surgeon is to come by at some point to view his bedsores, and recommend a plan for the future.

Another of the staff who has been optimistic along the way, and been a great source of encouragement on many occasions is Chris, a Pediatric Perfusionist. His role is to make sure the blood is "perfusing" throughout the body, or reaching all areas with oxygenated blood. He is responsible for the ECMO functions, and beyond. He always makes sure we know what is going on, and we understand it.

BJ's procedure this morning should happen around 9:9:30am or so. This is to put in a catheter, so he can be reconncted to the Cvvh machine.

We are amazed at how the Lord has moved in this process.

Thank you so much!!!

BJ's dad

7Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? 8If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. 9Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! 10Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. 11No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

12Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. 13"Make level paths for your feet,"[b] so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.

BJ is the very first thought when I awaken. Again today, I will lift him and you all up to the Father. Lord God I pray BJ's Kidneys begin to function normally. I also pray for the bedsores to be healed and for the doctors and nurses as they do procedures to bring about YOUR healing.... Surround BJ this day with your GRACE. Be with the entire family and might they feel a NEW and renewed peace that only you can bring. Please let them know how much they are loved.....We are never far away and love you with our entire beings...Phil & Paula

Lord I praise you because the medical staff is even realizing that something supernatural is taking place. I ask you to continue to reveal to them what You are doing and how You are allowing them to be a part of it.
I ask You today to begin healing the sores on BJ's body and I ask You humbly to let his kidneys begin to function. Please Lord, let this upcoming procedure go smoothly. I also ask you to be with Jayden's family today and hold them so very close to you. Please comfort them as only You can. We love you Lord.

I can't tell you the number of times that the Lord has brought your precious BJ to my heart and mind! As I told Brad in an e-mail, when I see BJ's picture I can't believe how much he looks like his dad! The truth is though, he is an amazing reflection of his FATHER! Such mature journal entries that show such a passion for Jesus! Blessings on your whole family... I'm praying for continued COMPLETE healing and restoration in the name of Jesus!

I pray for renewed strength for the family, wisdom and understanding for the medical staff, and Your blessed hand of healing upon BJ. Specifically, Lord, I pray for BJ's kidneys to begin to function. They've been resting up just for this!! Now it's time to put them to work again! :D Lord, I thank You so much for Your awesome power! You have left no other explanation to the witnesses. CLEARLY, Your hand is at work here. It is nothing we have done, but only You, Lord. And we praise You for it!!!!!

Brent, Deanna, Lauren and Whitney,
We praise God for a restful night for BJ. We trust that you got some rest too. I am amazed at how you keep going. You guys are like the energizing Bunny! :) We are so grateful for the updates. I've been waiting anxiously as others to read each new update. We pray for a good day today as BJ undergoes one more procedure. We are praying that the kidneys kick in soon and start up again on their own. The bed sores will take time to heal. It's a very slow process. My mom had one on her heal and it's taken forever for it to heal but it's doing great now so patience is the answer for that one. Have a great day and we'll be waiting for the next update.

Brent & Deanna,

So thankful that it was a quiet evening. Will be praying for those kidneys and that they start to function again. Praying hard that you all have some smooth sailing for a while so you and the medical staff can recuperate and catch your breath. I have been talking to a friend of mine who is also a nurse and she said she would like to help out, voluntarily, when BJ comes home. So, count on two of us to help with whatever you need medical or respite wise when you come home. I have several other friends in the area who are nurses that I can contact also, when the time is right. Just wanted to let you know that there are people that want to help make this easier on you guys. In the meantime, we will continue to pray for total healing and strength for all of you. Love you all.

Love, Nancy

Higgins Family, This is Jayden's "aunt" Sarah and I just want to thank you so much for your care and compassion last night (and always). As we walked down the hallway to say GoodBye to Jayden it was comforting to see and hear your family gathered in prayer and praying for our family. Your family is awesome and I can't thank you enough for all the support that you gave to Tabby, Mark and the whole family. Your faith overwhelms me. I can say that I am a better person for having met your family and for seeing your constant faith in HIM. What a testimony BJ is going to have when this is all over. To GOD be the Glory!

Last night, as we watched Jayden "fly to Jesus" we sang "Jesus Love Me" to him and the verse "weeping endures for a night, but JOY comes in the morning" was brought to my mind. I cling to this! I will continue to check up on BJ and will pray for his healing and success after all of these trials are over and he can give God the Praise and Glory himself!!!! Thank you Jesus for the miracle of Your Blood!

Hope you don't mind a question or two...I don't understand alot of what has been happening and it sounds like you and Deanna are ready for your medical degrees. After his kidneys start functioning, what is the next hurdle? When will he be allowed to wake up? I hope these aren't stupid questions. Praying for recovery and rest for you and Deanna.

I'm friends with Trever and Amy Harden and saw the link to your page. My thoughts and prayers are with you, with BJ.

I offer a prayer: The healing light of God's Love encompasses BJ and in this Light BJ moves and has his being. Those attending BJ are surrounded in this healing light and are guided by divine hands. You, the family and friends of BJ are wrapped in the loving arms of Love and Peace.

Blessings for healing-

Thanks to God for the peaceful night for Bj--and therefore his family--You have all been so strong and steadfast through all of this--it is an example for all of us. Thank you for that! I know you were a comfort for Jayden's family in the lowest time of their lives--They are in our prayers also--There are many hurdles ahead for them.

We are praying that BJ's procedure to place a connection for the kidney machine went well and that now his kidneys and bedsores can heal too.

We continue to keep him on our minds--it is a strange thing--we do not know him personally, but we can see that he's definitely a child of God--I truly believe that God has great plans for BJ.

Praying with you --the Romingers in French Lick IN
