The Catheter is in!!! Praise God. They ended up having to use the external jugular, which they did not want to do as it was the internal jugular that the canula had been in, and had to be tied off as it was in poor shape. We are thankful. Dialysis, or the Cvvh machine is back on line.

Pray that the swelling goes down quickly. That with reduced bloodflow being able to leave his head that he does not experience any more complications (pressure issues, etc.). Please continue to pray for his kidneys to restart.

Thanks for your prayers in an unexpected discouraging time.

Father, I pray right now that you would heal BJ's kidneys. Lord, You know that they need to begin to function so that BJ can start on the path of "smooth sailing". I ask that You would intervene right now and heal them. Please be with BJ's family and give them strength to continue this battle...for we know that the battle belongs to YOU. Thank You for putting such wonderful doctors and nurses in their life. Give them wisdom to know how to help BJ best. We give You all the praise and glory. AMEN!

Praying for BJ in Arlington, Texas. Your courage and faith are an inspiration to me. I went through 156 days with a micro-preemie last year and I know how it can be sitting bedside when one you love is so very ill. My little guy made it through...God is awfully good. Know that many many are praying for your strength, and for the doctors to make accurate diagnoses. Hang in there!

Father we pray that the swelling goes down quickly & that BJ does not experience any more complications. Lord God you formed BJ's kidneys and all his inner most parts. I now pray that they begin to function once again. In no more than a thought you can make it so. Thank you that the catheter is in place. I know this has been such a trying and draining day for the Higgins family. Please, please Lord God, some how give them peace and the ability to rest. Cradle them in your arms. Even though BJ's eyes may be closed I know his spirit is still sharp and receptive as ever. BJ...please know how much everyone loves you and keep fighting brother draw strength from the literal thousands who are praying for you!!! Just as in the play where good was struggling against evil and won so also shall you prevail over the forces of evil. Here these words dear brother as I close and send love in Jesus name.......

God will make a way,
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way, He will make a way.
By a roadway in the wilderness, He'll lead me
And rivers in the desert will I see
Heaven and earth will fade
But His Word will still remain
He will do something new today.

God will make a way,
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way, He will make a way
We love you....Phil & Paula

Let the DRAINING BEGIN! Someday this discussion might be kind of embarrassing to BJ, but for now...we just want him to enroll in Urination University, PASS the course, and GRADUATE!

Maybe we're a little nuttier than usual because we just feel so relieved....uh, bad choice of words.

Anyway! Praise to God for his Goodness, Praise for the doctors' abilities, Praise for his new "sleepin'-on-a-cloud" bed, Praise for devoted parents, Praise for God providing encouragement; Praise for faithful believers holding each other before the Throne of God; Praise for the beauty and instruction of His Word; Praise for Jesus!

We're continuing to pray . . . it's a must!

Brent & Deanna,

It is nice to see Christians have a sense of humor, some of the previous blogs are pretty funny.
I think everyone is feeling a little relieved that some progress is being made. I hope you both feel the same way. I know there is a long way to go but you won't do it alone. You have a great support system and for that I am thankful. God has been with you all the way and he will continue to be there supporting and lifting you all up. You also have support from all these people around the world, what an amazing thing. We will continue praying for healing of BJ, lessening complications, return of renal function, and for your continued strength and health.
I know how exhausting this has to be on all of you. Please don't hesitate to call if I can do anything at all for you. Love you guys.

Love, Nancy

Psalm 121

1 I lift up my eyes to the hills — where does my help come from?

2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot slip — he who watches over you will not slumber;

4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The LORD watches over you — the LORD is your shade at your right hand;

6 the sun will not harm you by day,nor the moon by night.

7 The LORD will keep you from all harm — he will watch over your life;

8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

FAMILIA DE BJ:
ANOCHE LLEGUE DE VIAJE DE UNA IGLESIA NUEVA DONDE BJ. TRABAJO CON AWE STAR, CUANDO ENTRE PARA VER EL REPORTE DE LA SALUD DE BJ QUE FUE A LAS 6:55PM SOLO LEI LAS FRASES ULTIMAS Y PENSE QUE ERA DE BJ. NO VI CLARO EL NOMBRE DE JAYDEN Y PENSE QUE NUESTRO AMIGO BJ HABIA PARTIDO CON EL SEÑOR. EN NUESTRA IGLESIA ESTABAN EN SERVICIO Y LES CONTE LA NOTICIA Y TODOS LLORARON Y PASAMOS UN MOMENTO MUY TRISTE, PERO SOLO FUE UNA EQUIVOCACION Y GRACIAS A DIOS QUE BJ SIGUE LUCHANDO Y DIOS SIGUE HACIENDO SU VOLUNTAD. SENTIMOS MUCHO LO QUE LA FAMILIA DE JAYDEN ESTA EXPERIMENTANDO AHORA, COMPRENDEMOS EL DOLOR PORQUE MI ESPOSA Y YO TAMBIEN TUVIMOS QUE EXPERIMENTAR LA MUERTE DE MI SEGUNDO HIJO DE 2 AÑOS, SOLO DIOS PUEDE DARNOS LA FORTALEZA Y EL NOS AYUDO A SALIR ADELANTE Y SEGUIR SIRVIENDOLE CON MAS FUERZAS.
SIENTO LA EQUIVOCACION Y CREO QUE ES URGENTE QUE APRENDA INGLES.
LOS MOMENTOS QUE PASAMOS CON BJ PREDICANDO Y MOSTRANDO EL AMOR DE DIOS A LOS PERUANOS SON INNOLVIDABLES Y DESEO CON TODO MI CORAZON Y ES MI ORACION A DIOS QUE ME DE LA OPORTUNIDAD DE ESTAR CON BJ PREDICANDO DE LA SALVACION EN CRISTO JESUS

Thank you Father for the many trials of today, for through them we sre reminded of our dependancy on you and your mighty love and power to meet our every need. Through the rain we are able to see your beautiful rainbow and remember your promise to never leave us. Father please continue to be with BJ and his family throughout the evening and night. Please help BJ's kidneys to quickly begin working and for the excess fluid to be passed from his body. May all of the incision sights and bedsores heal quickly and completely without infection issues. Please give your blessed rest and peace to BJ and family as they are surely weary from these last several weeks. May every intervention now be in place to allow BJ to heal completely. Thank you in advance, Lord for what you are going to do and for all you have already done. I am humbled to be able to come directly to you and experience in such a mighty way the extent of your love.
In the blessed name of Jesus your Son I ask these things and thank you Father. Amen
Love to you all,

Hi fam...

Wow...God really is teaching us to trust him and rely on Him constantly! I know that's a good place...the best place to be!

We are always in prayer with you guys.

At Bible-study while we were gone...we had suggested that they read BJ's journal entry after he read "DON'T WASTE YOUR LIFE". It really impacted the high schoolers... I saw one on the mom's of a High Schoolers today...and she said that after that night...her daughter was so touched...she went right out and bought the book and has been reading it! yeah BJ!!! John Piper would be so happy!

I've been reading Ephesians ...one of the things that I have seen in BJ's life is his ability to live in God's freedom...to be bold and go for life!
heres some nifty verses...from Paul...to the Ephesians when he was in jail...but it could be BJ who wrote them...
"Through Christians like yourselves gathered in churches, this extraordinary plan of God is becoming known and talked about even among the angels!
All this is proceeding along lines planned all along by God and then executed in Christ Jesus.

When we trust in him, we're free to say whatever needs to be said...
bold to go wherever we need to go.
So don't let my present trouble get you down...
Be proud!"
Ephesians 3:10-13

I'm praying for God's boldness on all of our lives... Paul...and Bj...have set a great example for us!

Hugs to you as always!
