A quiet evening: oxygen sat right at 90 and blood pressure holding steady. He didn't need to have extra sedation meds all afternoon with music playing in his ears! Status quo is on the agenda for the night. Tomorrow is day 40 so, prayer warriors, it would be a great day for new miracles! Pray on!!

The entry I've chosen from BJ's journal tonight is on a day when he was the MTL, which is ministry team leader, meaning he's the "talker." The students go out and share Christ to individuals in the crowd in teams of 3 after performing the drama. Each member has a role: Prayer, Distracter or Ministry Team Leader. This day they performed the drama 3 times.

1st drama - rocks. 2nd drama - prayer walk plaza, Kayla saw a glimpse or vision of glory, 3 men came. 3rd - Plaza de Armas again. Had to rely on God's strength to do drama [sick] 1st place, one lady went over to Marco, then God called me to go speak to these 4 policemen. I [was] kinda nervous cuz they could've easily laughed in my face or else whip out their uzis and order us to get off the premises, but God is teaching me obedience so I went and talked to them. As I was speaking, 2 of the 4's eyes started to well up and you could tell they wanted Christ. Other 2 were also sincere. Just as I finished the card [they share the gospel from cards written in Spanish] Marco [their translator] walked up (had been having translator problems) All 4 accepted Christ. As we were handing out response cards, I turn around and am instructed to share with another man, so I begin and eventually a crowd gathers and I'm witnessing with Marco. Then one guy says his religion says if you have a tattoo, you're going to hell, then he had other questions that Marco and I tried to answer as best we could, then most of this crowd sincerely (tears, nodding heads, etc.) accepted Christ and one lady thanked us over and over after.

I'm so thankful for my son and his boldness and willingness and perseverance and servant's heart.

Goodnight to you with love,
BJ's mom

I'm so proud of BJ. It takes so much to go talk to anyone, especially policemen. I'm amazed by his sensitivity to the spirit. I pray that God's will be done in this situation.

I feel so inadequate to bring you words of encouragement so I turn to His
Word to speak for me. I pray they bring healing to you four as well as BJ, I
Love you and pray without ceasing for BJ's total and complete healing.

Psalm 91
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."
3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you make the Most High your dwelling—
even the LORD, who is my refuge-
10 then no harm will befall you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him
and show him my salvation

....and Paul says in Romans.........
19Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I am full of joy over you; but I
want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil.
20The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.
The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you and give you, Brent, Deanna,
Whitney and Lauren a peaceful and restful night sleep. I pray you awaken
refreshed and renewed in body and Spirit.
The Lord God, Creator of Heaven and Earth watch over BJ as he sleeps.
Oh Father might tomorrow be a remarkable day of healing and restoration as you
bring BJ back to us....in Jesus Name....Amen

Excited about the great things God is doing in and through BJ and your family even as the world watches you sit in a hospital for the 39th day. I know that God is glorified. I lift you to the Lord! May day 40 bring amazing miracles that are beyond our imaginations. I know that God will move and use each of you, I can't wait to see how!

Wow! Thanks for sharing that. It brought back memories and feelings from when I went to Peru. The look in the people's eyes, the joy when someone accepted and seeing the immediate change in their faces... makes me want to go back even more. It also makes me extremely sad that I didn't go THIS year. But there is always a reason for everything, right?
I will be praying hard for BJ to continually get better. Love you all! Keep looking up even when things are going a little slow or when there is a setback. Have a restful night!

Shared BJ's story with my new Bible Study group today and asked for prayers for all of you. Of course, I give out the website every time I mention BJ's need for prayers. It is truly a privilege to share in this journey with all of you, in the good times and in the struggles. Thank you for opening your hearts with all of us and allowing us to be in communion with all of you as Christ's body.

May you have a restful night's sleep and praying that day 40 will bring some wonderful news!

Again tonight Lord, I praise you for the minor daily improvements in BJ's health. I pray that you will continue to heal his body and that you will continue to give the doctors wisdom about his care. Pray for the doctors and nurses and other hospital staff as they treat BJ that they will begin to focus more on what is "different" with BJ. I pray that they will find trust and receive you as their savior.

Praying for bj and you and your family in CT. In the last month I have seen God work a miracle and showed to me that prayer works in my personal life. My grandfather who is 92 years old went through open heart surgery after much prayer and faith he is home and doing excellent. Drs say he is a miracle! Just hold on to your faith and the Lord will see you through. The Lord really shows himself true and faithful in ways we cannot understand at the moment.

Love those sats in the 90's! Go BJ!
Just learned today that my mother has advanced breast cancer and will be having a masectomy next Thursday. After finishing 156 days in the hospital with my micropreemie just last year, I can hardly imagine another difficult journey beginning again so soon. But, God is faithful and folks are praying for us, too. Isn't it amazing how the prayers of so many just basically carry you when things get rough? I can hardly imagine going through something like BJ, my micropreemie, and now my mother without having God in my heart and holding my hand. Stay strong, BJ's family. Though my heart is soooooooooooo heavy for my Mom and our family right now, you will stay on my prayer list, too! Hugs. Carol, Arlington TX

It was great to relive that day. I remember watching the events of that day (as I wasn't in the drama). I was amazed as I watched our Lord move in the hearts of the policemen that Beej was talking to. Thanks for the reminder of what God did in Peru this summer!!

This song always fills me with hope!

"I will follow You through green pastures
And sing hallelujah to Your Name
I will follow You through dark disaster
And sing hallelujah through the pain

And even in the shadow of death
I will praise You
And even in the valley I will say

Holy, My God
You are worthy of all my praise
Holy, My God
You are worthy of all my praise

You are seated on your throne in heaven
And You see all of us down here
And You have promised You will not abandon
So I shall not fear

And even in the shadow of death
I will praise You
And even in the valley I will say

Holy, My God
You are worthy of all my praise
Holy, My God
You are worthy of all my praise

You made every star
And You taught it how to shine
You knew my name before there was time
And all this was just part of Your glorious design
Hallelujah, Hallelujah"
- "All my Praise" by Selah

After hurricane Katrina this song really spoke to me and would just make me weep every time. Well I'm sitting at work tonight and this song plays and I just immediately think of BJ and your family and just pray for him. As my brother in Christ, he is always on my mind. My friend Tara and i always run to the computer lab and check on him between classes. Know your family and he are in the thoughts and prayers of so many!

My walk with my God has grown by His birthing a desire to see and pray for BJ's healing and the burden I feel for his family and their 'rollercoaster' ride. The first thing every morning and last thing at night I read the comments and agree in prayer with the family of God that has embraced you in this time of ... only God knows...vigilance. Thank you, Father, for bringing us closer to You by teaching us to love others. Our 'family' grows daily by Your love and caring spirit. Thank you that we can participate in establishing Your kingdom today. Teach us to recognize our opportunities to bless You and each other. Thank you for BJ's healing and his testimony increasing daily... we look to You for miracles today and forever...Amen! Jimmy (where sin is grace abounds...) LV, NV

I was at the Oktoberfest in Cincinnati this past weekend. I heard a guy use Jesus' name in vain. I felt pulled (very hard) to go talk to this guy, but I did not have the guts, as I have never done anything like that before with a stranger. Needless to say, I did not go and talk to him and felt very ashamed of myself for it the rest of the afternoon. I sure coudld have used BJ by my side at that moment! What an awesome kid BJ is to be able to do what he does! I do not know him, but I am very proud of him! You parents have done an awesome job with him!

My prayers of comfort are with ALL of you family and freinds that are hurting at this time!
