I got a call from Terry Singletary (wife of Larry, the missionary Brent is with) today and she encouraged me to get "my people" to pray for the guys: Brent, Larry and Michael. They made it to Uganda and on into Kenya which is a huge praise! However, in the process, the bus driver of the bus they were traveling on decided to race with another bus and was driving reckless. People were falling out of their seats and Brent's seat actually broke and he cut his arm. He is OK but Larry was pretty shook up and Terry and he have been through some rough situations. Perhaps it's just a reminder for us to pray more intently for them. They only have 6 hours in Somali to make their contacts so please pray that their time is spent well and productively. Continue to pray that God keeps them safe as His will is accomplished. We trust in His sovereignty!!

Thank you so much for praying! They avail much!

Father, we praise You because You are Lord of all and have ALL authority. Thank You, God, for using that authority to get the men into Uganda and to bring them safely to Kenya. Thank You for preserving their lives. Now as they rest, God, give them the deep sleep they need. Multiply the minutes so that they awaken refreshed, renewed, restored and healed.

Oh God, give them Your grace and power to track down exactly the ones they need to see tomorrow. Give them the words, the stories, whatever they need to speak Your life into the lives of those broken people. Allow each message to be communicated with Your heart of love. Lord, meet all their needs according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Keep this trio from the evil one, Lord. You have much work to do and he is clearly not happy about it. As they begin the journey back to Uganda, keep them in Your Name, Lord God. Remind them even as they sleep of your deep love and abiding care. May the return trip be as restful and peace-filled as the trip down to the camp was chaotic.

Again, God, be with these men as they do Your work and prepare the way for more work in the future. Direct and unite their hearts to fear and honor YOU, Your Name, Your kingdom, Your renown. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

with tender love
and prayers in pink,

Marti

With no disrespect meant to my brother or the others, I know Brent is glad that he was able to take that cut in order to do what he knew the Lord was calling him to and that it will be a wound worn with honor. this is a good reminder to pray without ceasing!

Amen to Marti's prayer and Deanna I hope the ice isn't ruining your week.

We have about 10" of snow overnight and more no the way...I know how much Brent would be enjoying it right now if he were here. But he is where the Lord wanted him and I am so thankful that it worked out.

Definitely not (forgotten).

God keeps waking me up (even in the daytime) to pray for you and I can't wait to hear about the great things He is doing in and through you!

Praying for a safe journey home and that you will finish the work He has for you there. Lifting you up as well, Deanna, knowing how precious you are to so many, especially your Father. Praying always
