Good afternoon
Just wanted to pass the lastest word on to you regarding BJ and the rest of the family. BJ is still in the ICU of St Vincent Children's Hospital. He had a successful procedure done last night to help his body receive oxygenated blood. The doctors are still searching for answers as to the cause of the sickness and are awaiting some test results today and/or tomorrow! BJ was in very good shape and his body is fighting off the infection and that has been amazing to the doctors. Family and friends also know that the power of prayer and the favor of our God has more to do with it than the doctors understand. Brent, Deanna, Lauren, and Whitney are so grateful for your prayers and support that it often leaves them speechless! So here are a few more suggestions as we continue to lift up the Higgins family.

1. Continue to pray for wisdom beyond their training for the doctors. They are monitoring his progress and helping him fight the infection.
Pray that as they continue to search for answers that they would remain steadfast and focused and not let frustration or disappointment
set in.
2. The ministry of presence was felt in a major way yesterday and last night. We had an incredible time of praise and worship with the
Higgings family. It was a precious time to share with them as we continue to give God the glory for His work. However, at this time it is
important that we give the family time to spend some quality time together as they comfort one another and get some much needed
rest. Please continue to pray for them in your car, at work, at home, prayer closet, and at the dinner table. As the Higgins catch up on
their rest and with the rest of their family, they will be anxious to greet you, hug you, and pray with you. If you feel that you must go see
the family, limit your visiting time to 15-20 minutes and remember to honor the hospital's visiting hours, which end at 8:30 pm. With that
same thought, the family may be off to another room to rest and you may not see them.
3. Your small group or Sunday School class can help them in a variety of ways...gift cards to Starbucks...quick meals...puzzles...magazines...
cards...emails...think practical ways to meet specefic needs. Please call me with any ideas or suggestions. We will continue to pass on
the information as it is passed on to us!

The body of Christ has responded immediately to the needs of a hurting member...the Bible tells us that when a member of the body hurts, the entire body should hurt, this passage has become very real and personal. Thank you very much for showing your care and concern as you continue to lift Brent, Deanna, Lauren, Whitney, and BJ to Jesus. Your generousity puts a smile on my face and gives Glory to the Father! For that, I'm very thankful. Keep praying and keep focused!

Tony Manning

I just received BJ's request on 8/24/05 from a prayer chain (Prayer Warriors) originating in NY.

My dad was getting bed sores in the hospital, and the hospital brought in an air mattress, which promptly resolved the problem. I will be praying for reduction of the infection in BJ's blood and for his oxygen level to increase.
