More good news-

BJ is out of isolation!!! The doctors have ruled out a few major diseases and viruses they had been very concerned about- which is great, but it still means we have no clue what the infection is. This makes the doctors nervous. They continue to drain fluid from his abdomen; and they are starting to be able to see his lungs on X-rays, a good sign that the fluid that had filled them is draining. BJ's swelling is going down a bit, and his oxygen level remains in the mid-90s. It was very moving to be able to go in and see my brother without a mask or gown on, and more so to be able to touch him without gloves.

Please do not feel obligated, but for those who have requested, you can mail us at:

BJ Higgins c/o PICU
St. Vincent's Hospital
2001 W 86th St.
Indianapolis, IN 46260

The doctors reminded us this morning that there is always the possibility of further complications. We are very encouraged by the progress BJ has been making, but remain in fervent prayer that machines continue to function well and that BJ's body does not reject or react to any of the medication or machines.

Once again, my family thanks you so unbelievably much for the many prayers you have said on BJ's and our behalf. We feel the difference they are making.

Love in Christ,
Lauren

I just want you all to know I pray for BJ everyday and for the family as well. I spent a week in Peru two years ago and I admire BJ for his work and showing the people there God's love despite the risks. I am so sorry this young man is having to go through all he is going through but I know God is holding BJ in His arms as He does all of us who love and serve Him.

When i got home from school today I felt that I had done some good. Today was one of the first stressless days i've had in while. It felt good to know that God was with me. And all I could think about was Bj and the family. I got to thinking and if Dylan or Colton were in a position like this i wouldn't be taking it very well. I've been praying morning and night that God will be with you and that Bj will heal quikly. You guys are so blessed to have him as a brother.
When we were at Jumpstart I was having absolutly no fun. Bj came along and really brightend up my weekand. I was going to thank him but never got to see him after that. And I also want to say thanx to Lauren for praying with me last year at the wensday night thing. IT was a very emotional time for me and you made a big difference in my life. I want to thank you guys. just always rember that God creates miricals. Bj is in a fight for his life right now and even if he doesnt make it he will still have already won his battle.
Love in Christ always,
Kaeli Cockrell.

This is Vince Ringer I heard about B.J. a couple of days ago. He went to school with us this last year. He also wrestled at Monrovia High School for part of the year.He wrestled at 112 pounds. I wrestled at 119 pounds. So he was my partner for most of the year. I go to Good Sheperd Baptist Church in Mooresville, Indiana. So, I just want to let you know that I am praying for him and the family. And I hope he recovers really quickly.

Praise God! A friend of mine knows BJ through Awestar. We have been praying for him for his healing, for the Docs and nurses to have clearity, strength and knowledge, and for your family to have comfort and support. April talks of how spirtually mature BJ is for some one so young. Thank you parents for raising a Godly son to be such a great example to others.

Thank you so much for the website updates. It helps to be able to keep informed without being intrusive as I know your energy is concentrated where it needs to be.

The Lord is great in keeping BJ & the family in my thoughts and prayers, as I know He has a great army of His children mobilized to pray.

Rejoicing in our great and magnificent God!
with much love,

Dear Ones,
What wonderful news!! How often our thoughts and hearts turn to you when we are unable to be there for a day. We continue to pray for each of you as well as each member of the medical team as they work with BJ. We see Jesus through each of you as you deal with the day-to-day ups and downs of this illness. We see BJ's witness still drawing people to Christ and consider it a blessing to be a small part of your lives.
BJ - Lowell has a surprise waiting for you when you "git bedr"! In the meantime, know that the men in the praise band continue to wear pink in your honor!
To Him Who Sits On The Throne - we love you all, carol & lowell

Brent & Deanna,

Just wanted you both to know you are still in my thoughts and prayers. As I go through all the daily tasks I have with homeschooling the girls, watching baby Andrew, etc., I find myself thinking about BJ, wondering how he is doing, about you both, hoping you are holding up ok and getting the rest you both need, and your girls, if they have started school and how they are dealing with everything. We know this is going to be a long journey but you have many friends and family that are willing to go on this journey with you, including me. God continues to be glorified through this whole experience. We will keep the prayers going, God is definitely listening and answering them. Hope you have a peaceful night.

Nancy

I am so excited that B.J. is doing a little better! God is Awesome. Everytime I hear that B.J. is getting better, I become so happy for him and his family. I don't even know him, but the more I hear about him the more I want to meet him. He sounds like an awesome Christian guy and I thank the Lord daily for the progress he's made. My family, friends, and I are praying for B.J. and the rest of your family constantly. May the Lord continue to bless you always.

Because of Him,

It is such great news to hear about any progress BJ is making. A friend of mine reminded me the other day how Jesus doesn't walk ahead of us, he walks right next to us, lighting only the path we need to see to slowly move forward with Him. As BJ and your family faces the long road ahead, I hope this reminds you of God's ever presence right next to you, leading you all along the way, and lighting the path for those to see. "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." Continued prayers. Tina

Dear Higgins Family,
I have been praying continuously from the first moment that I heard about BJ. I know that your family is continuing to see the power fo prayer, and I pray that the LORD continues to bless BJ; I pray HE keeps working HIS miracles. This entire process has brought so many people to trust more in the LORD. It seems as though, through all of my prayers, I too have grown closer to the LORD. BJ and his love for the LORD and his passion for seeing people fall in love with CHRIST is happening throughout the country. It's an awesome thing!! BJ is serving the LORD- even through all of his suffering. BJ, the LORD will pull you through. Higgins family, we (your spiritual family) will continue to pray without ceasing.
Love,
Layla

My prayers are with you all as we stand in the gap for BJ. When Josh Mills(my son) requested prayer for BJ all the way from N.Africa how sick this brother in Christ was I sensed that God was doing a powerful work in BJ. His testimony is strong and clear. I weep and rejoice for you all..as a mom I lift up BJ's mom. You will continue to be in our prayers as we watch an AWESOME God reveal His plan. Debbie Mills

We have just heard about BJ's sickness and we are having a special prayer for him, right now! We pray God's glory to fill him and His healing power to come upon him. We need so many young men of BJ's character to lead our Nation and continue God's work on earth until that wonderful day when God will take all His children to our heavenly home.
