Hello.

Tonight I am going back to school, restarting classes tomorrow. Whitney is heading back to her place, too, and then starts work mostly-full-time tomorrow. It's a bit nerve-wracking to leave the safety of home, where family understands better than anyone else can. But we move from home to the different kind of support nets of friends surrounding us in our respective homes-away-from-home.

As always thank you so much for your prayers. They have meant and continue to mean so much.

I'd like to share my favorite story about my brother! I was talking to Beej one afternoon about guys and dating, and he was telling me he wanted me to be careful and not get hurt. I asked why he was cautioning me the way he was, and he said, "I'm your brother, and I'm protective of you!"

Oh how much I miss him, and that protection. Just remembering makes me smile!

Love in Christ,
Lauren

Praying for both of you, Lauren and Whitney. Just yesterday I was asking God to surround you with folks with very special sensitivity and compassion--that you wouldn't end up feeling left out or forgotten during this time--and that God would help you (L) with all the hard work I'm sure is facing you in school. I can tell He has given you some special friends there, just by the one's who've posted here! Both of you: keep making a difference--and keep taking BJ's advice regarding guys, too! One more time where he "got it," I guess!

love in Him,

Lauren,
You have an awesome family. I know things will be different and you will miss BeeJ. There will lots of memories that will come to mind out of the blue, right in the middle of something else. Just smile and take a few minutes to enjoy those memories. How did you do with the snake puzzle? I keep forgetting to ask you..let me know next time I see you
love,Tammy

Lauren and Whitney-- Please know that Nate and I will be praying for you as you make the transition from the "safety and knowingness" of your home back to school and work. I pray that you will particularly feel His presence in a very special way those times that you feel alone and afraid. We love you and we are here for you if you ever need us!

Brent and Deanna--We continue to lift you up to our Father in prayer. Praying that these new transitions will be smooth and that you will feel His peace and encouragement in a very tangible way as the girls leave. We love you too! Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you--anytime!

Missing you all,

Nate and Amy

Dear Lauren,
I am praying for you as you arrive back on campus this evening. I know it will feel different and getting back into the focus of studying will take time. But I know that you have a support team of friends there that will welcome you back and love you, and listen to you. Even though they won't really "know" what you are going through, they will be there for you!
We will all keep praying!!

How awesome to have a brother like that! My "lil" brother was like that when we were growing up.

I will be praying for you and Whitney as you go back to your "homes away from home". I can't imagine how hard that would be but I know it takes strength and faith.
Keep clinging to God!
I'll keep praying!

BJ has turned out to be protective of a lot of "sisters". I overheard a teen girl the other day who said,"Any guy who wants to date a girl that knew BJ is gonna have alot to live up to!"

Dear Higgins Family,
I just got to watch BJ's funeral for the first time (it had been unavailable everytime I checked) and it was beautiful. I felt even closer to BJ and got to know him better. Thank you so much for sharing his story with me! I was also thankful that you could show the celebration online for those of us who wouldn't be able to go to it. You are still in my prayers.
Lots of love,

Dear Family.......Wow what a step of faith you are all taking! I am convinced the Lord will honor it as you step back into your lives...so much the same and yet forever changed. Watch what the Lord does as you step out of the boat!!!!!!!! Woooooohoooooo!

Even though BJ is off on the ULTIMATE MISSION TRIP with the Father please realize your family has the world's greatest support group. I can't think of anyone I know or have known that has as many...concerned extended..spiritual family members as you all. We all love you so deeply and care about your well being. Please. please call on me if I can do anything no matter how large or how small to help you on your journey. You know as I began to think about my Mom after she passed...with the close of each day we didn't grow farther apart but in reality another day closer to the day we all will be reunited. So until that great reunion takes place please wake up each morning and see all the Lord has for you all. Many are called but few are chosen. You dear family have been chosen. It is an honor and a priviledge to call you friend. We love you and will continue to lift you all up to the Father. BJ is forever with us all...and not all that far away.
Sleep well...I love you...

Dear Lauren and Whitney,

I will be praying for you in this tough transition back to "reality". I,too, lost my "little" brother 8 years ago, and know the pain and terror of losing a sibling.

I will pray God gives you special friends who will listen and support you in the way that helps the best.

BJ was right about guys and dating! Keep it in mind!

As we continue to pray for your family you all continue to bless us so much with your witness for our Lord. Thank you so much.

I can only try to imagine the mixture of emotions y'all must go through each day, but I pray that you will receive a peace and joy that only He can provide you with. I know that His grace will be sufficient for you and, as is the Higgins' way, He will be glorified in you because you are so satisfied in Him (sorta quoting Piper there).

Could I make a request if it's not the wrong thing to ask? I'd like to know how BJ led his days. When did he have a prayer time, when did he study his bible (morning or night), and other clues as to what worked for him. I would like to imitate him a little because he was imitating Christ.

I struggle with getting my time/life in order so I hope it's ok to ask as this. Maybe Beej can help a "wanderer" find the narrow path again.

Thanks in advance and God bless you all as you take on the world anew.

I will continue to pray for you all in this time of trying to find a new way. I know that this must be the hardest thing in the world for all of you to do. We question, How is this fair that we continue to go on with life? But, knowing that our God has our loved ones in his kingdom preparing a place for us to one day go is a peace to know that it is not final. May God Bless your family as you venture back out into this world.
My prayers always,

I was just on the Mercy Me website and was reading that someone needed some prayers, I of course clicked the link and got to reading. I just want to say that from what I have read, BJ knew the Lord very closely and had so much talent, I mean to go to Peru for a mission trip at the age of 15. God must have had something he needed BJ to do for him, so he brought him home. I pray that BJ is up in heavan and that when the day comes that I get to go home, I get to meet BJ, he sounded like a magnificent person. Your family will me in my prayers for quite some time. God bless you and your family, and remeber that Jesus loves you very very much and is there for you anytime you need to talk.
