We continue to play the waiting game. They will do another blood gas test at 4. These haven't been excellent, so please pray that they will begin to show significant improvement. When the doctors changed BJ's chest dressing they were able to pull off more fluid from the wound (from his surgery to remove chest tubes yesterday). Dr. Williams said anywhere they can get fluid from is good.

BJ's SAT numbers are hovering around the high 80s/low 90s, and his blood pressure has been pretty steady. "Stable" is okay right now... But we really need a miracle. Please pray for our patience during this maddening time of waiting! Mostly, just please continue to come before the Father on BJ's behalf.

Love in Christ,
Lauren

Psalm 139
1 O LORD, you have searched me
and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD.
5 You hem me in—behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, [a] you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,"
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to [b] me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake,
I am still with you

Wow a God such as this can certainly heal my brother BJ.....We are still believing and waiting on a Holy God. We love you.

I must tell you that I went on an overnight trip with the university's rowing team last night. It was hard not to know what was going on, as you are often on my mind. Tara, though gave me an update last night. One of the most rewarding parts of my trip this weekend happened last night. I was wearing my pray for bj shirt and one of the girls in my room asked what that was. I got to tell her about BJ's great faith and love for the Lord, and his family's faith and willingness to share him with us, as well as all of those who faithfully pray for you. I don't know this girl well, but it certainly opened the door for Christ to move in her life. I continue to pray for you, BJ and you, family. This is a hard time and is like an endurance race. Let us press on faithfully. Sometimes when it hurts the most or when we seem farthest from the finish is when we have almost beaten the competitor, if we give that last hard push, victory is in sight. May God continue to be your strength and comfort and may He continue to use each of you for His glory. I continue to pray.

Hey, I was reading my Bible this morning and found some verses that God really spoke to me trough. I'm claiming them for myself and praying them for you.

Proverbs 3:24-26
24. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; When you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
25. DO NOT BE AFRAID OF SUDDEN FEAR Nor of the onslaught of the wicked when it comes;
26. FOR THE LORD WILL BE YOUR CONFIDENCE And will keep your foot form being caught.

I love you guys so much. I'm continuing to wage spiritual warfare for BJ and for you guys.

Beej- I love you so much, you're an awsome bother in Christ. We'll keep tusting in Him together, OK?

Kindness - Todd Agnew

Open up the skies of mercy
Rain down Your cleansing flood
Healing waters rise around us
Hear our cries, Lord, let ‘em rise

It’s your kindness, Lord, that leads us to repentance
Your favor, Lord, is our desire
It’s your beauty, Lord, that makes us stand in silence
And your love, your love...is better than life

We can feel your mercy falling
You are turning our hearts back again
Hear our praises rise to heaven
Draw us near, Lord, meet us here

It’s your kindness, Lord, that leads us to repentance
Your favor, Lord, is our desire
It’s your beauty, Lord, that makes us stand in silence
And your love, your love...is better than life

Open up the skies of mercy
Rain down Your cleansing flood
Healing waters rise around us
Hear our cries, Lord, let ‘em rise

BJ, Resonating with the very meaningful words from a post earlier today from Linda Tollison Shaw, I am compelled to pray. I'm praying fervently for you and your family, AND growing in my prayer life as a direct result of your influence (as well as your entire family). Began reading through all the updates and comments on Monday of this week, thinking I would get a quick overview of your situation. With young children, yes, my time to do this is a bit "choppy", but I did not expect to be reading back posts still today. Your journaled words are compelling to me, as I see they are to others. I thank you for recording your journey so far. Through the worshipful, God-anointed words you have helped drive me back to that place of hungering for more in my relationship with God. Thank you, BJ.

These are some word prayers I've whispered for you,your family and medical staff throughout this week:

joy, strength, peace, protection, comfort, grace, mercy, rest, awe.

I am praying for you...

Lord, once again we realize that this is all in Your hands. We ask you to heal this young man who wants to serve you with his whole heart. Please restore him. Please continue to shower his parents and his sisters with your peace. Lord give them a spirit of satisfaction. How many times have I thought that the end was near, only to see You do a mighty work and that is that I'm asking for again. Lord we love you so much and I know this family wants you to be glorified....we all do, but we ask you to allow BJ more time on this earth.
Praying continually in Your name.

Brent, Deanna,& family,
We pray for all of you as we lift BJ up to the one who can perform miracles. We will continue to pray for all of you.

I wonder if I accidentally deleted the message I sent yesterday. It was a "Prayer of the Joyful Heart" that someone sent to me when I was first diagnosed with cancer. It has helped me tremendously to have it in my kitchen window (7yrs) where I can read it often. Here it is again in case I did delete it.

"God, You are at work, and You are in control. And Lord God, You know this is happening. You were there in the beginning, and You will bring everything that occurs to a conclusion that results in Your greater glory in the end."

We love all of you and will continue to lift BJ and all of you up in prayer. He is your strength and healer. God bless you all.

Dear Ones, know that we are praying throughout this day with you. You are constantly on our minds, whether we are present with you or away. How our hearts ache for you; but there is One who aches even more for you - he is keeping your tears in a bottle, counting each one and He alone knows how He will choose to bring glory to Himself in this. One thing we do know for sure, God is being glorified and will continue to be lifted up before all men as you go through this valley. I read this in my bible study this morning and Beej came to my mind:

"Jesus Christ calls to himself those who are willing to be inwardly transformed by him, who desire an entirely new nature that is created in his own holy likeness. He calls to himself those who are willing to die with him in order to be raised with him, who are willing to relinquish slavery to their sin for slavery to his righteousness. And when men come to him on his terms, he changes their destiny from eternal death to eternal life."
Indeed, God is being glorified.
Ever before the throne in prayer, we love you - carol

Brent, Deanna and Girls,
Just know that our prayers are steady. I had notes written in my Bible from a sermon from Pastor Larry from 7/31/05 that I happened to turn to tonight and as so many have already said it without a doubt brought BJ right in the middle of it. My notes said, "Live a Generous Christian life. This is can be and should be a life of giving. 1st of all give your heart to Jesus. That stuck with me that Sunday morning and when I read some of BJ's journal that was posted today about one of his weeks, I thought WOW! BJ generously gave and gave and gave. He couldn't wait to talk to the next person about Jesus' love. BJ is half my age and teaching me through his journal how wonderful it is to share Jesus with others.
Still praying.
