Well, let me just say what an encouragement it was to have Awestar missionaries with us this past weekend! Those who came: Barbara Ann, Heather, Meagan, and Logan. Those who called: Erin and Tara. You have blessed us in a huge way. Our daughters enjoyed hanging out, and getting to know you as well! States represented were, Missouri, Oklahoma, Utah, and North Carolina. Wow!
Our God provides in the most amazing ways, and we are most thankful.
I want to go ahead and share another of Beej's writings today. This was written, I believe, when he was 13.
"Beglorify God to Belittle yourself. Do not Belittle yourself (Belittling with a motive of secret, desiring pride. "If anyone is to come after me, he is to deny himself, take up his cross and follow me" Matthew 16:24. While you must deny yourself to be with God, you must search yourself in doing so. You must have a pure motive), you then only Beglorify yourself by assuming that by you admitting that you are nothing, you may be something and glorify God. Instead have joy in the glory of God, for that is praise and that is glorifying God, and that will Belittle you as you are in awe of God.
For when you have joy in God's awesomeness, thus you are in praise, you will feel compelled to share it and spread it. Praise of God alone will make you realize that you are small, insignificant, and useless. Then you will find yourself glorifying God, and NOT yourself, for you are nothing, and God is everything, and for our nothing, God sacrificed everything, so that we may have everything.
So then, why do you still refuse? "I have taken hold of Christ because He has taken hold of me," as Paul said, so take hold; He will never let go or fail. Delight in God. Have joy in God. That is praise. That is your purpose. That is all you have and all you'll ever need. Your responsibility as a Christian is to delight in the one and only delightful. Delight in His everything and your nothing. Does not that make you greatful to be alive? That your purpose in life is to delight. So then, what else can anyone say?
No action is greater than its motive. The only correct motive is to bring glory to God"
Let us then, glorify God!
We are a blessed people, let us share the wealth we have been afforded... His everything, with those who do not have it.
Bless someone today!

If you had to list all the names of those praying for you this weekend and beyond, I know it would continue for several pages. Awe Star students, thank you so much for ministering His grace and love! You are AWEsome!
I would like to request prayer for our family friend Sheryl, who lives in Oceanside, California. She is a dear sister in Christ, wife, and mother (of three teens) who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. Sheryl faces surgery and radiation over the next few months--possibly chemotherapy, too. I know she and her family would want to glorify Him in this storm, and I know this blog family will pray with and for her.
Praising Him in OUR storms,
Marti
Awesome! So glad God blessed you even more this weekend. Thank you Awe Star family for going and blessing this great family!
Great journal entry. Thank you. Still makes my mouth drop open knowing God had given BJ such wisdom....as seen in his writings.
Marti---will do pray for sure! I have been affected in a big way in my life by that disease (mom died of it when I was 18), so I will definately lift her up to our precious Savior and will continually pray for her in...what else... PINK!!!

Hoping the Higgins family and friends can pray for my dad, David. He is in the hospital due to a head on Collision that happened last Thursday. He has a dislocated hip and two fractures. They are doing surgery tomorrow (Tuesday) and placing a plate and two screws in to hold his hip in place. He is in alot of pain. Dad has also just been diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis which can lead to Respiratory Failure. Dad has been through so much (Cancer that almost killed him, A Double by-pass this past April, knee replacement surgery, and also got diagnosed with 3 other lung diseases last year. We have a strong faith, but dad's poor body (and spirit) has just about had it!
Please say some prayers for him for his surgery and recovery. Thanks so much,

YOU have blessed me by sharing your son's writings, today.
I leave this Saturday for Thailand for two weeks. I have participated in this trip twice before and because of my prior experience and because I work as an administrative assistant for the group that is going, find myself with a great deal of responsibility -- leadership, decipleship, and administrative.
Throw on top of that trying to complete the last four weeks of the semester in the two weeks before I leave, and you've got quite a task!
This evening, I have been reminded of the purpose behind my going: compelled by the all-surpassing sacrifice to proclaim it among the nations. To repeat BJ's words, Praise of God alone will make you realize that you are small, insignificant, and useless. Then you will find yourself glorifying God, and NOT yourself, for you are nothing, and God is everything, and for our nothing, God sacrificed everything, so that we may have everything.
Freshly aware of His grace,
