Hello Family.

Today has been quiet for BJ. His oxygen level remains around 90% and his X-rays show that his lungs are very gradually improving. The doctors are still working on keeping his bleeding under control- he has been receiving lots of blood products.

Northside Baptist Church is having a blood drive to credit BJ's account from 3pm-8pm on Wednesday evening. We would like to invite those of you in the area to register online (see posted instructions a couple entries below) or by calling 317.255.6692 (the church's number). There will also be a joint First Baptist of Mooresville/Northside prayer and worship service at Nortshide at 6.30pm the same night that my family would love to be able to share with you.

Northside's address is:
3021 E. 71st St.
Indianapolis, IN 46220

Please come! This Wednesday night at 6.30. Blood drive from 3-8!

Thank you all for your perseverance through prayer. You continue to encourage us in this difficult time. We look forward to sharing with you in person Wednesday night, and through continued updates!

Love, Lauren

Higgins Family,
Y'all are still in my prayers. I know the watching and waiting is the hardest part and you are stuck between handling daily responsibilities, spending time with B.J., and remaining close to God in this whole situation. Thank you for your testimony and faithful example and I will continue to keep y'all and B.J. in my prayers.

Deanna, couldn't get you off my mind this evening so decided to post before going to bed. I just wanted you to know that the days we aren't there with you in person, we are there in thought and spirit. You are ever on our mind and hearts and we are learning what it is to "pray continually". Your Monday night bible study gals send their love and prayers. We prayed tonight for the bleeding to stop, for a guard against infection and continued healing but we prayed tonight mostly for you. We pray that your strength would be renewed each morning and that you might rest in peace at night. We prayed that God would continue to show Himself all-sufficient as He continues to meet each need as it arises. And we prayed that you would know tonight, in particular, that you are loved by so many of us. It is our privilege to keep you and your family ever before the Father. So sleep well tonight, knowing that you are held in everlasting arms and that the One who never sleeps is holding BJ in his hand.
Until tomorrow, carol

BJ and your family are the first things that think about when I wake and the last thing that I think about before going to sleep. I send up a constant prayer that God is with you and comforting all of you.
I think of the song that says, "Sometimes He calms the storm and other times, He calms His child."
May you feel God's peace today!

Brent & Deanna - Thank you so much for your sweet comments on Andrew's page - I'm glad his little life could bring you a smile. I am continually amazed at how much Todd & I are being taught by you all about being parents. Realizing that these children are truly Christ's is a hard thing to tackle, but what an example you have laid before us. We are still praying continually for BJ and your family. We love you so much & will see you tomorrow.
Love,
Jessica, Todd & Andrew

It was exciting last night to hear from students in our small group of how they have been able to use this situation to share Christ with other students that they would not have normally had the chance to. Be assured of our continued prayers. We serve an Awsome God!

Dear Family,

Just wanted to send you a note to let you know that we pray for you each day. B.J. is a great witness for God's glory. He teaches us that teenagers really can get what it means to live for Christ. I believe with all my heart that this is a special time that Jesus has set aside to teach B.J. the things that He wants him to pass on as soon as he comes out of this. Psalm 91 is a perfect passage to pray over B.J. and I have already begun to do so. I hope our Christian family will join me in doing so by inserting his name into it. We love you and thank God for your ministry.

Dear Higgins,
I am praying for BJ every day, and for all of you as well. I pray that the Lord will give you strength and rest. I am so sorry that I will not be able to donate blood or be at the service tomorrow. I just wanted you to know how blessed I feel for having the opportunity to have each and every one of you in my life. The faith that is described in 2 Samuel 22 reminds me so much of you all. You have yet, and I know you will not, falter in your faith in our Lord. The chapter also tells us that our God will protect us, and He will be our rock, our fortress, and our deliverer.

Love alway,
Beth Thomas

Hi!

I wrote the other area (pray for BJ) about my cousin's daughter and her fight against the same syndrome as BJ. I want to assure you that there are some, especailly the young, who have recovered from this condition. Even if there is possible damage to memory and coordination, BJ can be helped with therapy. Ann recovered with about 9 months of therapy. She is now working full time! Please keep up the effort and the praying. All the churches in White River Association have you all on their prayer lists.

Yours in Christ,
