If this is a joke, it's only a little funny...it's raining outside, but not in room 2001. They are preparing to hook him back up to the Cvvh machine. They plan to use a lower rate of fluid removal to try to fool his kidneys into believing they are already doing some of the work.

Overnight, which was quiet and peaceful, he was removed from the Nitric Oxide machine (it was being used to open the alveoli in his lungs). His Sat's dropped initially, but rebounded back into the 90's. Thank you Jesus, for one more machine GONE!!!

They are planning to turn him back over this morning. We look forward to that because his face gets so swollen when he's on his tummy. We know it's only cosmetic, but it's what we see.

Lord God, bless these faithful ones with your abundance today!

Brent,

It's not a joke....I was watching the weatherman this morning and it is supposed to rain all day.....I'm almost positive it will rain, not just outside. I'm praying hard, and doing my "rain dance"!
I'll continue to check updates throughout the day!
May God keep you all under his umbrella!
Love, Your Friend!

Hear the power of Our GOD.....

Strengthen the feeble hands,
steady the knees that give way;
4 say to those with fearful hearts,
"Be strong, do not fear;
your God will come,
he will come with vengeance;
with divine retribution
he will come to save you."
5 Then will the eyes of the blind be opened
and the ears of the deaf unstopped.
6 Then will the lame leap like a deer,
and the mute tongue shout for joy.
Water will gush forth in the wilderness
and streams in the desert.
.....
Hear the words of Moses !!

"Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14 The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still." .

Do you hear that Brent and Deanna, Lauren and Whitney?
"The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be stil. Watch your God work through the doctors and nurses today. Sense the moving of the Holy Spirit in BJ's room even now as I pray. There are times when He requires action from us and there are times He says be still. I am believing God today for a miracle. Can I do that for you? I bedlieve He is going to move over and through BJ this day. Watch what our gracious and Holy God is about to do in BJ"s life !
Again today I approach the Throne and ask for our brother BJ to be delivered. Breath life into BJ's kidneys even as I pray. Make it so Lord Jesus.

During an illness of this magnitude you really find out who your friends are, who are willing to stand and pray with you. It is a priviledge to call you friend.
Love you all !!! Phil & Paula

Hey Higgins...sorry this is one post late, but I thought you might be interested to know that we have had experience with Doctor Belcher. About a year or so ago, Eric had mononucleosis about 4 years ago and we were referred to him.

Therese used to work on the diabetic unit at Methodist and had occasion to deal with many, many doctors. She was very impressed with Dr. Belcher's "bedside manner" and follow-up, as was our pediatrician.

We continue to pray for rain in Room 2001.

Love you all,

The Davids

Praise God, one more machine gone. Dear Lord, thank you for that, and we pray that the rain will move inside room 2001 today. Thank you for the amazing staff and for the wonderful care they have given BJ and his family.

I just thought of the words of the old hymn "there shall be showers of blessings" The north campus was pretty pink yesterday with t-shirts scattered throughout the auditorium. It is such a privilege to be able to help to bare one anothers burdens.

Brent & Deanna,

We will be praying hard for those kidneys today. The kidneys are the first to be effected by all the lifesaving measures that happened to BJ, they will probably be the last to return. Praying for his continued improvement with his pulmonary status and general recovery. We also continue to lift you and the kids up for continued strength and endurance.
We really miss seeing you at church and Bible study. It's not the same without all of you. Miss you and love you all.

Love, Nancy

What a wondrous thing each "disconnect" is! God is showing His provision fully, unwrapping it slowly so we won't miss noticing any wrinkle of the wrapping which is His continued gift of healing.

I regret to inform you that as of now, BJ has been placed on temporary probation from his academic career at Urination U. So far, his work is incomplete. However, perhaps with the proper incentives, he'll be able to fulFILL his requirements.

Actually, we continue to pray for each area of concern for BJ, as well as his emotional reactions to being in recovery when he is able.

What an amazing journey so far. We cannot cease to hold you all up before the Holy Throne of God for daily renewal, guidance and strength.

In Him,
Jamie

Perhaps God is using the
"outer rain" as a reminder to trust Him for the "inner rain" as well! The first prayer request on our kids' lips this morning at Bible time was BJ. They are starting to come to the site when I do to check on their friend. Thanks for teaching their buddy Thomas (Lamca) the sword fight, BJ. I had to go out and buy PVC pipe for Kristen and Katherine to recreate the sword fights here when they got back from their Awe Star summer!

Interesting story--our church is in a beach community, and there is a boat next to the main road that people use as sort of a personal billboard. It's painted over and over again with all sorts of messages for birthdays, anniversaries, even once "Will You Marry Me?" Yesterday, Andrew noticed that the boat said, "Come back, BJ" and of course he thought it referred to "our" BJ! God can use all sorts of ways to remind us to pray. . .and we are. We pray that God will quickly bring those kidneys back to full function so we can praise Him yet more and more! We continue to pray for the doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel and for lots of great days this week!

I am so encouraged that over the course of the past few days, there have been improvements in BJ's condition! :) It makes me feel good to read that your spirits seem uplifted and positive. I think about you guys and pray for BJ almost all the time. Seriously, I cannot tell you what this has done for my faith. I'm blown away. Our God is awesome!

Praise the Lord for one more machine being removed and the quite peaceful night. Now we are binding our prayers together for the kidneys to start working and not only start but to work in the order they we intended to work. I pray all you guys have a blessed day.

Yes!! May God bless you with the kidneys doing their job without any assistance from another machine. From reading all the journal history...it does appear that BJ is on the mend. Hope the docs ruled out leptospirosis. I know you grow weary of this medical dance...two steps forward, one step back. Praying for a giant leap forward to day.

Father,
You have worked in miraculous ways through BJ's sickness. You have done a miracle in how far you that brought me...how many machines that you have brought him off and have kept him stable. For that I thank you. Right now I just want to come before you and ask that you let it rain in room 2001 today! Please...let it pour.
Amen

Good Morning,

Brent, Deanna, Lauren & Whitney, you are constantly in our prayers. I can't image how difficult this could have been without the Rock of Our Lord. I'm glad that He has so wonderfully prepared your spirits for the spiritual battle that you were going to have to face. It is such a blessing to know that all of those times you spent worshipping in church gave you the foundation to be able to worship during one of the most intense storms that a believer can face. Whitney, I can visualize you with your eyes closed and your hands raised as you sang with all of your heart and soul. Thank you all for being such incredible witnesses of faith and for giving each of us an example of "counting it all joy." I can't wait to see how He is going to use this victory(and it will be a complete victory encompassing BJ's complete and total healing!!) to witness to the world.

Father,
We thank you for all that You have already done. Thank you for each miracle that you have performed along the way. We bless you for your faithfulness in hearing the voices of your children. We boldly ask that you would also restore the function to BJ's kidneys. Let them "rain". Father, we love you and we honor you. Thank you for the doctor's, nurses and staff that you have provided specifically to care for BJ. You in your sovereignty have positioned the perfect staff to accomplish the ends that will bring glory unto Yourself. We ask also that you will bless each of the family's, their health, their possessions, their finances. Let this be a time when they can fully recognize the hand of a Mighty and Loving God that they may be either drawn into a new relationship with you or the one that they have will be deepened. Praise God from whom all blessings flow. We bless Your Holy Name.

Will continue to pray throughout the day!!!!

In Christ's love
Your sister,
Dawn D.

It is good to see the humor here today! I have to say that the first thing I thought of this morning when I heard it thunder is with all those prayers going up for "rain", God got confused. But we know that God doesn't get confused & he has a perfect plan & timing for everything in BJ's life, even down to those kidneys working again! We'll be praying for that today & for the continued progress! God's blessings to you all today!

Lauren and Whitney- I was so glad to see at church yesterday! I usually sit on the side near Whitney - I love to hear you sing all the songs and am encouraged by your willing and earnest heart when you sing praise songs.
BJ(his family and the medical staff) is continually in our prayers and we do not miss an opportunity to pray for him as a family.
Thank you for sharing so much of yourselves and your strong faith through the website each day-it has encouraged me in my daily life.

It's also been raining here in Wisconsin...may it continue to do so as it travels east!

May God strengthen all of you through another day. I pray that this will be a day filled with all good news, a joyful relief from the roller coaster of events over these last few weeks for all of you. May the removal of one more machine be just the start of a grand day, worthy of rejoicing. Lord, be with the medical team as they work together to heal your son, BJ. Guide them in the path they should take and the decisions they should make that will bring BJ closer to healing. May there be songs of praise and thanksgiving for everyone in BJ's room.

Father, right now I lift up BJ and his family to you. Lord, I ask that you continue to have your hand on this family and just hold them in your loving arms. Father, please continue to give BJ, the healing touch he needs to get better and recover. Lord, please continue to give this family, strength, understanding, and patience, until this situation is over.
Lord, I just ask these things in Jesus Name right now. For you said that anything we ask in Jesus Name You will provide and I am believing you for that right now. Thank you Lord, for all you've done, are doing, and about to do. Amen.

We continue to pray on BJ's half, representing him, to God especially when he can't speak for himself. Something God brought to my mind just now is that Larry and Terry have been teaching the Karamojong in Africa that "God is good all the time" and that "He always keeps his promises" and that "God is full of love and grace." Praise Him for continually hearing us, and for holding Bj in His hands. We cling to who God says he is! Still praying

I am so sorry to hear about what your family is going through. It sounds like bj is an extraordinary young man who loves the LORD. I believe that GOD has used bj in a mighty way. GOD has a purpose for each one of us and when that purpose is finished we get to be with the LORD. I know that sounds trite but my ultimate purpose is to eventually be with the LORD. GOD bless you all and I will pray daily for you and let my church know to pray, also. I will call klove and have them add you to the prayer request line. Hebrews 11:1 Linda
