(Yes, Dr. B.W.)

BJ, part boy, part man, has successfully been turned, no bleeding, and stats remaining between 92 and 95, so they are continuing to turn the vent pressures down. Blood gases are looking good, PO2 is 81 and PC02 at 45, PH 7.34. Woohoo. His swelling is down a bit and I think he looks beautiful! They feel they have a handle on the infections. We have lots of reasons to rejoice this quiet, wondrous day - #34!

They've cleaned him up nicely, his beard trimmed up a bit, so I ran my hand over his beard thinking it was more dried blood and it was stitches (right at his neck), and it startled me. The wounds are looking better, healing is happening! Chapter 2 in this journey is looking up - we are definitely encouraged. Our Lord Jesus has been so merciful through this whole ordeal. I don't understand how people can not seek the Savior.

Many have said they don't know what to say. When I hear that, I in turn don't know how to answer. But I can thank you for the blogs and the cards and the outpouring of love we have felt. The prayers of God's people are so very precious to Him and to us. Thank you so much for caring and being interested in our journey. We know we have a long way to go, but we take one day at a time, and miraculously enough, God is faithful and gives us strength. We are so blessed to have gained so many new friends through this! We have never felt alone. The depth of the prayers on this website are an inspiration. Though I was hesitant at first to let this be created for us, I am so very relieved that we have it. It is a comfort and a joy, thanks to all of you who check it!

Isn't He Wonderful.......Wonderful...Isn't He.......Wonderful....Almighty God.....Isn't He......Isn't He......Isn't He !!!!!

Psalm 18
For the director of music. Of David the servant of the LORD. He sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said:
1 I love you, O LORD, my strength.
2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge.
He is my shield and the horn [a] of my salvation, my stronghold.

3 I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise,
and I am saved from my enemies.

4 The cords of death entangled me;
the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.

5 The cords of the grave [b] coiled around me;
the snares of death confronted me.

6 In my distress I called to the LORD;
I cried to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice;
my cry came before him, into his ears.

7 The earth trembled and quaked,
and the foundations of the mountains shook;
they trembled because he was angry.

8 Smoke rose from his nostrils;
consuming fire came from his mouth,
burning coals blazed out of it.

9 He parted the heavens and came down;
dark clouds were under his feet.

10 He mounted the cherubim and flew;
he soared on the wings of the wind.

11 He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him—
the dark rain clouds of the sky.

12 Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced,
with hailstones and bolts of lightning.

13 The LORD thundered from heaven;
the voice of the Most High resounded. [c]

14 He shot his arrows and scattered the enemies ,
great bolts of lightning and routed them.

15 The valleys of the sea were exposed
and the foundations of the earth laid bare
at your rebuke, O LORD,
at the blast of breath from your nostrils.

16 He reached down from on high and took hold of me;
he drew me out of deep waters.

17 He rescued me from my powerful enemy,
from my foes, who were too strong for me.

18 They confronted me in the day of my disaster,
but the LORD was my support.

19 He brought me out into a spacious place;
he rescued me because he delighted in me.

20 The LORD has dealt with me according to my righteousness;
according to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me.

21 For I have kept the ways of the LORD;
I have not done evil by turning from my God.

22 All his laws are before me;
I have not turned away from his decrees.

23 I have been blameless before him
and have kept myself from sin.

24 The LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness,
according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight.

25 To the faithful you show yourself faithful,
to the blameless you show yourself blameless,

26 to the pure you show yourself pure,
but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd.

27 You save the humble
but bring low those whose eyes are haughty.

28 You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning;
my God turns my darkness into light.

29 With your help I can advance against a troop [d] ;
with my God I can scale a wall.

30 As for God, his way is perfect;
the word of the LORD is flawless.
He is a shield
for all who take refuge in him.

31 For who is God besides the LORD ?
And who is the Rock except our God?

32 It is God who arms me with strength
and makes my way perfect.

33 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;
he enables me to stand on the heights.

34 He trains my hands for battle;
my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

35 You give me your shield of victory,
and your right hand sustains me;
you stoop down to make me great.

36 You broaden the path beneath me,
so that my ankles do not turn.

37 I pursued my enemies and overtook them;
I did not turn back till they were destroyed.

38 I crushed them so that they could not rise;
they fell beneath my feet.

39 You armed me with strength for battle;
you made my adversaries bow at my feet.

40 You made my enemies turn their backs in flight,
and I destroyed my foes.

41 They cried for help, but there was no one to save them—
to the LORD, but he did not answer.

42 I beat them as fine as dust borne on the wind;
I poured them out like mud in the streets.

43 You have delivered me from the attacks of the people;
you have made me the head of nations;
people I did not know are subject to me.

44 As soon as they hear me, they obey me;
foreigners cringe before me.

45 They all lose heart;
they come trembling from their strongholds.

46 The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock!
Exalted be God my Savior!

47 He is the God who avenges me,
who subdues nations under me,

48 who saves me from my enemies.
You exalted me above my foes;
from violent men you rescued me.

49 Therefore I will praise you among the nations, O LORD;
I will sing praises to your name.

50 He gives his king great victories;
he shows unfailing kindness to his anointed,
to David and his descendants forever.

We are one with you and Love you

Thank you for keeping us informed on BJ's progress. God definitley has something great in store for BJ and the rest of your family. It is awesome to see that your family is relying heavily on God rather than blaming him as so many others do in times like these. Certainly, if you look at the footprints right now there is only one set, that of our Savior carrying you, your family and BJ through this chapter of your book of life.

Thank you for sharing your faith and trust in God for anyone who comes across BJ's Blog here. You are an inspiration to others and I am sure some have been drawn closer to God; or at least really thinking about their walk in life right now. May God continue to bless BJ, you and the rest of your family.

Deanna-Glad things are stable today. My prayer group had prayer for your family this a.m.
Now, speaking as a MD, did they rule-out Hanta virus pulmonary syndrome? We see it in the southwest, but there are cases in South America, according to the CDC web site and some people got ill 2-5 weeks after exposure. It presents as an acute pulmonary infection which becomes very quickly critical.
I hope I'm not overstepping my boundries here, but as a physician, I can't help but think through all the possibilities as I would if BJ were my patient.
God's blessings on you today.

Thank You Jesus, Praise You Lord, Bless Your holy name, You are wonderful Lord and we love and adore You, You are all we need and desire.
Thank You Lord that You continue to hold BJ in Your divine healing hands, we praise You Lord that he was turned successfully without bleeding, thank You that his stats remain high, thank You that the staff are able to trurn down the vent pressure. Thank You Lord for ALL the good results and good reports today.
Bless your heart Deanna, of course you think BJ looks beautiful, he is your son. He's also beautiful in the eyes of Jesus.
Have they given you any indication as to what the infection is yet?
I am jumping up and down praising God that all the prayers have been heard and I will continue to remain in prayer for BJ and you his family until the day of complete health and healing has been achieved through our Great Physician.
You said that you were hesitant to create the blog site, but isn't it wonderful how the Lord turns what we think may not be such a good idea to something wonderful. He has brought the body of Christ to a more intimate relationship with Him, He has drawn us together to do what we are ALL called to do, pray for one another and bear one anothers burdens, and He has shown us all through your precious son what a true relationship with God the Father and Jesus Christ His Son is all about. Bless you for allowing us to be a part of this most difficult walk in your life.

Deanna, I know how happy you must be as BJ's mom to see him get "cleaned up." I was talking with friends tonight after our meeting about BJ and they asked to have special prayer for him. Please know that there are people here in Europe (various places) who are lifting up your family. When I arrived yesterday, one of my missionary friends from Split, Croatia immediately asked what the latest was on BJ's condition. Be encouraged that the Body of Christ around the world is supporting all of you in prayer. I love you all and continue to lift you to the Father's throne.

BJ a friend of mine sent me this EMail and I instantly thought of you! You have certainly prepared yourself and are preparing many of us for when the Wind Blows!

Years ago a farmer owned land along the Atlantic seacoast. He constantly advertised for hired hands. Most people were reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic. They dreaded the awful storms that raged across the cold ocean, wreaking havoc on the buildings and crops. As the farmer interviewed applicants
for the job, he received a steady stream of refusals.

Finally, a short, thin man, well past middle age, approached the farmer. "Are you a good farmhand?" the farmer asked him. "Well, I can sleep when the wind blows," answered the little man. Although puzzled by this answer, the
farmer, desperate for help, hired him.

The little man worked well around the farm, busy from dawn to dusk, andthe farmer felt satisfied with the man's work. Then one night the windhowled loudly in from offshore. Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a lantern and rushed next door to the hired hand's sleeping quarters. He shook the little man and yelled, "Get up! A storm is coming! Tie things down before
they blow away!" The little man rolled over in bed and said firmly, "No sir. I told you, I can sleep when the wind blows."

Enraged by the response, the farmer was tempted to fire him on the spot. Instead, he hurried outside to prepare for the storm. To his amazement, he discovered that all of the haystacks had been covered with tarpaulins. The cows
were in the barn, the chickens were in the coops, and the doors were barred. The shutters were tightly secured. Everything was tied down. Nothing could blow
away. The farmer then understood what his hired hand meant, so he returned to his bed to also sleep while the wind blew.

MORAL: When you're prepared spiritually, mentally, and physically, you have nothing to fear. Can you sleep when the wind blows through your life? The
hired hand in the story was able to sleep because he had secured the farm against the storm. We, as believers in Christ, secure ourselves against the storms of life by grounding ourselves in the Word of God. We don't have to
understand, we just need to hold His hand to have peace in the midst of the storms.

Sleep well!

May God Bless you and if it is His will heal you soon.

Deanna,

I praise God for the news. Good news and "boring" days have been a long time in coming.
Tell Brent that I plan on bringing some "un-gooky" vegetable soup tomorrow. (Now, did I spell that right?)
I know your heart rejoices. An old song came to my mind and without a doubt you all know it and probably have sung it before.

Till the storm passes over
Till the thunder sounds no more
Till the clouds roll forever from the sky
Hold me fast, let me stand
in the hollow of your hand
Keep me safe, till the storm passes by.
Praying for continued healing, peace, strength and comfort as each moment passes.
We love you all very much.
Love,
Brenda F.

I praise God that you have a good report to share with us, but I urge all bloggers to continue in prayer day and night. We have so much for which to give thanks.

Lord God Almighty I give you praise that young BJ is beginning to stabilize. I praise you that the bleeding has subsided and I just ask You to get his kidneys started. You are our creator and designer so You know what we need to keep functioning. Lord I ask You to continue to amaze the hospital staff to the point that they absolutely must acknowledge Your hand in this process. I pray that you will give new peace and rest to this family and I ask You to always be strengthening BJ's body. We want to give You all the honor and praise. Great is thy faithfulness.
Amen.

Thoughout your ordeal I have found myself praising God for things such as shampoo, nurses with strong hands, voices, etc. I have also found myself praising God for things I haven't before. Such as, "Thank you God that my children can argue with each other. Thank you for those voices that can sing praises to you at other times." Or "Thank you Lord for the technology that makes this possible, and that I can read." I guess what I am trying to say is that in response to your suffering I am able to praise God for things I have never thought to before.
Thank you for sharing.

I am one of the nurses that has been helping take care of BJ. I am also a fellow Believer-In-Christ. I have always thanked God for giving me the privilege of taking care of His children. And I pray for His guidance and wisdom and that He would use me to do His work.

But taking care of BJ and meeting this amazing family has been such an inspiration and blessing to my own life. At a time when I should be taking care of you, you are ministering to me on so many levels.

My husband and I were completely in awe after reading BJ's journal entries. His Godly widsom and incite overwhelemed us! We have been inspired to deepen our own walk with Christ.

And of course we continue to keep BJ and you all in our prayers and praise God daily for His Awesome Power! Lisa L.

We are continuing to pray and go through this journey with you long distance. I am reading Ann Graham Lotz's book, WHY, and there is a quote in it I want to share:

Measure thy life by loss and not by gain,
Not by the wine drunk, but by the wine poured forth.
For love's strength standeth in love's sacrifice,
And he who suffers most has most to give.

God must be shaping your whole family to have much to give! What a testimony BJ will have when he is well!

I am so HAPPY for you all and especially for BJ. GOD does work miracles if we are patient and committed to him. I am so glad to hear his stats are up and things are looking better for him. I look forward to reading these blogs everyday and mostly to keep myself up to date with BJ's condition so I can spread the word to my friends who keep him in mind and in their prayers. All of you keep your heads high and remember there are so many people out here routing for a recovery and praying for BJ.
