The Lord has delivered Bj through this day, and we Praise Him!!!
Dr's. Freeman and Sando did a great job in their respective fields of thoracic surgery, and skin.
Beej's blood pressure did not waiver through the second surgery. They did not have to give him any additional support. They removed dead tissue in his hip. It was deep, and included dead skin, fat, and muscle. The Doctors believe this has been the source of his infection. They state the next 24 to 36 hours are crucial as he should begin to recover and needs to make significant process towards healing. We need this to be an issue and infection free period.
Lord God, we are humbled at your provision and mercy. I cannot fathom the masses that have been in prayer for Beej and our family today.
Beej has a long way to go, and we need much positive to begin to occur. His blood gases have not been good today, up to the surgeries. Please pray that the tide will shift as the infection is believed to be cleared.

We are turning off and unplugging our computers while the storm passes through. It'll be nothing compared to the past 40-day storm you have endured. We're disappointed that it may be a while before we can check on BJ, SO, we may bug you with a phone call or two until we have electricity again -- that is, IF the cell phone towers make it. . .
It is so comforting to see so many people from all over praying for BJ. The thought has crossed my mind that I don't really need to pray, with so many other people praying. BUT, I can't help praying. I wake up praying for BJ and I go to sleep praying for BJ and many times in between every day.
Your faith and steadfastness in all the ups and downs of these days is inspiring. I know it's a "God thing", but that's what God does -- showing us important, even simple things in other people. Thank you, Higgins', for being a vessel as BJ is.

As my family has gone through this day, we have continued to keep each other up to date on B.J.'s conditions. Praying throughout the day, and this evening each one of the girls asked to pray at dinner so that they could Both pray for B.J.
I sat just a little while ago, reading a devotional book, written by Steve Chapman. This book, like the last few I have read by him, have been extremely inspirational, however, tonights passage reminded me of B.J.
I would like to share it with you.
It Read....
Whenever snacktime arrives while sitting in a deerstand, one of the best treats a hunter can take our of his pack is a fresh apple. The natural sugar is a boost, and the unique taste can wake the sleepiest of heads. Also, the aroma could very well get the attention of the sensiteve nose of a hungry deer, enticing it into range.
Because this fruit is a familiar food to whitetails in this part of the country, I usually don't consume the entire apple. Instead, I save enough on the core to ensure it has plenty of pulp to give off a pleasing odor. I then put it under my boot and quietly smash it. Using the grated floor of the stand, I let the sweet-smelling debris fall through it to the earth below.
Whenever I crush and apple this way, I know that along with the ground-up meat of the fruit, the seeds fall to the soil as well. I've wondered if someday, years in the future, others will be able to track my stand locations by finding apple trees that have grown up in nondescript places in the middle of the woods!
If my stand has a solid floor, I do something different. Before consuming the apple, I take out my pocketknife and slice it in half. I;ll eat one side and cut up the rest in small pieces and toss them out around me. Sometimes before I partake, I look at the nicely sliced halves and observe the exposed seeds. I like to do this because of a profound quip I heard several years ago: "You can count the seeds in an apple, but you can't count the apples in a seed."
An amazing amount of truth is packed into these few words. I find them expecially inspiring when the opportunity arises to share the good news of the gospel of Christ with a group of young people. To think that even though I may be speaking to a few individuals who can be quickly counted, they in turn could bear spiritual fruit and possibly affect many others through the years. Sunday school teachers and camp counselors, for example, will be encouraged if they remember this truth when they get weary in well doing.
.......If you have an apple with you, open it up. Take a look at the little black dots inside. Count them. Remember, you are holding not just one seed but many apples that could feed many people and animals. Who could number them? The final tally is known only to God. Keep this in mind the next time the opportunity comes to share the good news of Jesus!
WOW! I know this is long, but I needed to share this with you. B.J. has been jsut like an apple seed! What this does not say, is not only does an apple tree produce endless seeds, but very deep roots.
I pray this evening for a restful night for B.J. and each of you!
I pray that our Wonderous Lord, places B.J. in his healing hands tonight and lifts him up. I also pray tonight that all the apples that are growing due to the seeds B.J. has been able to plant, produce large, health, ripe, SPIRITUAL FRUIT!

Well rested here...praying that you have supernaturally been given rest throughout the night. My hope is that it means last night went without an event. I find it amazing (not that it should, but admittedly it does!) that I prayed the samething as others, "wake me Lord, if I should get up & return to my knees for BJ".
The buzzer is set for prayer throughout the day...not that we need it as we sometimes pray 2-3 times between. We just want to be intentional as well.
Praise the Lord for all He has done! All to Him - the glory, honor & power.
Thank you Lord for calling us to join You in Your work. Continue to have your spirit prompt our prayers. Lord, we pray for miracles in man's eyes & sovereign healing in Yours.
