The plastic surgeon is getting ready to remove the dead tissue on BJ's back. What was thought to be a bedsore, is in fact a collection of blood that has infected that area of his body. There is a significant risk of bleeding in this procedure, especially because BJ has been on the blood-thinning medication. Their primary concern is that the bleeding get out of control. There is also a risk of dead tissue detaching and getting into BJ's blood stream. This surgery should take about 30 minutes...

People, please be praying... I praise God for how He has burdened His Body for my family thus far, and, as this is the most intense BJ's situation has been, I pray that you would pray even more fervently now than you have been. We are approaching the line where we must decide if life support should even continue.

I really don't know what else to say, so here are a few more words from my brother:

God Loves.
Obedience. Faith. Glory.

When Christ calls us to follow Him, He calls us to come and lay down our lives and to obey Him and share His name with the peoples of the world, no matter what the cost. Its time that we as the Christ followers of this country respond to this call and realize that the cross IS worth it, and forget the cost. Its time to open our eyes and see the people the Christ died for. To see that God has been robbed of His glory and that people have been robbed of God's love because of Satan's lies all around us. Its time that we show them the love that Christ has for them, and stop being lukewarm and mediocre.

God has called each of us somewhere to be a missionary for Him, will you follow? In the US, in your hometown, some other state, or some other country...will you go? Will you answer the call, and stop wasting your life in the selfish comfort and "success" that our society teaches us to seek? Will you follow Christ, the greater purpose and satisfaction in life? Will you answer the call and get uncomfortable for Christ?

Scared? Weak? Unable? Don't worry, God who created everything and who has authority and power over everything will give you the strength and the courage. All He asks is that you TRULY turn to Him and give Him everything, and He will bless you beyond your imagination.

Will you GO??

BJ is giving everything right now. Even through his suffering, I am certain that my brother would still be preaching and reaching out to the lost of this world. He has not wasted his life at all... in fact he has lived it much more abundantly in 16 years than many of us ever will. So, as you continue to pray, let God be working in your heart, burdening it for the lost as well. Don't cease in your prayers, but even more so, Don't waste your life!

Lauren

Heavenly Father, I pray that you would surround BJ with your healing touch right now. Your healing has been seen many times over the weeks...I ask Father that it be seen once again. I pray that you would have your will & your way. That you would give strength to BJ & to the family. I pray that you would surround them with your loving arms & may they feel you holding them so close.
Be with the medical team caring for BJ. I pray you would guide them as they make decisions. Be with the surgeon at this time.
In the days to come, be with all who make decisions concerning BJ's care. May the family feel a peace & be reminded that you are ALWAYS in control. May your glory be revealed. Thank you for the life of BJ & for the way you have used him, even during this difficult time. May his reward be great!
We love you, Father, & we praise you for the good we know you're doing.

Continuing to keep you lifted to the Lord in prayer!

BJ, you are such a wonderful child of God's. You have taught me so much through your journal entries that as a parent, I will now share with my children. And as a parent, I can't imagine how proud your parents of you and how difficult it must be to make the decisions they have to make. I hope you have felt the love of them and your sisters during your time in the hospital. I hope you somehow will be able to pull through this. God, please help all of them. Praying for you continually.

Dear Child of God,
Hold tightly to the hand of the Father that loves you.

Holy God,
You said we don't receive because we do not ask. There are many of us begging you Father to heal this child so he can continue the good work that you started in him. Be with the surgeons and the support staff who are working with the talents that you have blessed them with. Give them wisdom. Allow this situation to proclaim to the world that when your people pray, you hear their cries. Thank you Father for your healing touch, and your hand that guides us.

Loving you...

Dear Lord in Your Most Magestic Name I pray for this brave servant of Yours who has a heart of a lion.Brave n strong because of the Love You have given him and shown him in his life.So much so that he wants to share that with others.Lord I pray God's Will be that this young man heal completly and he is able to continue sharing the Gospel with others..I pray that his family is given comfort in during this trial of BJ's and know that You have set Your angels of mercy and healing upon his head. Our advantages as believers are entirely spiritual (Jn.6:63; Eph.3:16). We can cope where others cannot because we have the truth and we believe the truth (Phil.4:13). Indeed, it is in our weakness that we most and best appreciate the power and the grace of God (2Cor.12:9). We trust in our Lord to deliver us in His way at His time no matter what we are called upon to endure (2Tim.4:17), and we do not presume to dictate to Him about what we are or are not willing to suffer on His behalf (1Thes.5:18). God does heal; of that we are certain; but that does not mean that He never allows our faith to be tested through illness and disease.Lord we know You hear our prayers for BJ in Your Name please,we huimble beg You have mercy.Amen.God bless you and yours Cynthia.Powers

Jesus calls us o'er the tumult
Of our life's wild restless sea
Day by day His sweet voice sounding
Saying "Christian follow Me"

Jesus calls us from the worship
Of the vain world's golden store
From each idol that would keep us
Saying, "Christian love Me more"

In our joys and in our sorrows
Days of toil and hours of ease
Still He calls in cares and pleasures
"Christian love Me more than these"

Jesus calls us, by Thy mercies
Savior may we hear Thy call
Give our hearts to Thine obedience
Serve and love Thee best of all

First I thank God for Bart for posting this prayer request in his band's emails.
I can't imagine what you are all going through, but I am praying that God will give you ALL strength and peace as he carries BJ, His son, through this storm.

Rm 8:26-30 "Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified."

I just wanted you all to know that I have been praying for BJ and for all of you that are with him all day today. All of you are such a witness for Christ-your strength in the midst of such tragedy is above and beyond what I could ever have done. Please know that no matter what the outcome--BJ has reached so many lives, including my own. The messages you have shared on this blog from his journals have been so real and heartfelt, so convicting. I praise God for BJ's life and continue to pray fervently for his recovery.

Elle, I love you so much--remember that no matter what happened yesterday, today, or what will happen tomorrow, God is unchangeable--his love covers all. Wherever you go--the depths of the sea or the deepest valley, God is already there--You are NEVER without him.

Lauren,

You're right!!! In his short life BJ has understood more than many of us. It's about relationship, and if you would lay down your life for a family member; how much more should we be willing to lay down our lives for the Creator of the Universe. The passion he exhibits is powerful enough to encourage many. I believe God will continue to use that passion in this life to bring Glory unto himself

With love and constant prayers

Lord, I pray that you give this amazing family the strength and guidance they need as they face these difficult days ahead. Lord, they want Your will to be done in BJ's life, no matter what it may be. Please, please deliver him from this sickness...restore him...allow all of us to be continually blessed by BJ in this world. I selfishly ask this of YOU so that one day I can tell this amazing young man how truly inspired I have become by him.
In Jesus Name, Amen
