BJ's condition is at a very crucial point. His body is trying to heal, but the bleeding has worsened and is causing other complications. It is critical that they get the bleeding stopped. They have tried so many things which are not working. He is bleeding internally as well as at the tube enrty/exit points. the ecmo pump (which is re-oxygenating his blood) struggled early this morning as the amount of bleeding in his abdomen reduced its ability to work.

Quite simply, we need the Lord to intervene.

Please pray...please

Today is the first time that I heard the story about BJ. After reading all the posts and comments, I have called and told my family and church back home and we are all praying for the Lord to step in and heal BJ. The Lord is watching over you and your family and my he give you the comfort and support that you so desperately need.

Dear family,
My family and I are praying for you daily. I encourage you in midst of this hard time not to lose heart but to rejoice in the Lord. For the Joy of the Lord is our strength.

"Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to go on the heights." Habakkuk 3:17-19

We're still praying.
In Christ,
Philip.

This is the first I have heard of BJ and his situation. I was deeply moved by reading the posts and seeing BJ's profile. I am in much prayer for BJ and your family. Please continue to trust in our Great Physician to bring healing in BJ's life. We will never know on this earth why God chose to do this, but we can rest on the fact that He sees the whole picture and He can bring good out of it all. May God fill your family with His peace and comfort.

Yesterday was the first time I learned about BJ. After reading through all of the entries, I sent out a prayer email to all of the employees here at the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma. We are all praying for BJ and the family that He would give you the strength that you need. The power of prayer is so amazing and we have all lifted BJ up to the Lord!

BJ & Family,
We will be lifting you up in prayer today more than ever, praying that the Lord would perform his healing touch on BJ's body. Also know that many others are lifting you up as we have forwarded all info to our prayer room at our church and friends. Romans 8:28 says We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him. They are the people he called, because that was his plan. Know we will be praying continually today for each of you.

Dear Brent, Deanna, Lauren and Whitney,

These are the verses I prayed over Emily and posted on her door when she was 1 and was thought to have eye cancer. Psalm 121:1,2,7,8 "I lift up my eyes to the hills-where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth...The Lord will keep you from all harm-he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore." Emily and I lifted B.J. and your whole family in prayer this a.m. on the way to school.

Love to you all,
Lisa

We have been praying day and night. I've rejoiced when his condition has gotten better, and cried when things have gotten worse. I know the emotional and physical strain of this situation, but I also know the One who sympathizes with you more deeply than anyone else ever could. I pray that in the quiet times and in the panicked times, His presence is felt and there is comfort with the pain. The Lord is watching over BJ and all of you. BJ's life is precious to Him.

From the God who formed you, to BJ and all your family: "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine! When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior."

Lord, as a stranger I shouldn't be this burdoned, but as a sister in Christ, my heart breaks for this young man. I pray that Your good and perfect Will be done is this situation. Prayers are being lifted up all over the world, right now, and I pray that you will reach your hand of mercy down and heal this young man who has so much more to live for, if it be in Your will.
Reach your hand of peace that passes all understanding down upon this family, they are heartbroken and kneeling at your feet. Cover BJ with your blood, and may the bleeding stop right now, in Your name. Continue to bless this family as they trust in you.
In Jesus name I claim and pray.

I do not say amen, for I will continue to pray for BJ. A perfect stranger am I, but my heart is broken for you and BJ.

Trendemous love and prayers are with you.

"Devote yoursleves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." Colossians 4:2
Dear Higgins family,
As I read over the list of comments, it is encouraging to see the embracement of friends who are devoting themselves in prayer over this situation. We serve a faithful God who we can trust. Watching and waiting to see His Hand move as He orchestrates His Will in our lives, brings the heart into thankful praise for who He is!
This morning, before my attention was brought to BJ's current needs of prayer covering, I was reminded of some verses highlighted in my bible, and clung to, during time of trial. God's Word is alive, it is to be feasted on and will produce an abundance of nourishment. "We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon You." II Chron.20:12 "In the Lord I take refuge." Ps. 11:1 "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my hearts trusts in Him and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to Him in song." Ps. 28:7 "But I trust in You, O Lord, I say, You are my God." Ps. 31:14 "God is our refuge and strength an ever-present help in trouble. Therfore, we will NOT fear.."Ps. 46:1 "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty." Ps. 91:1 and "This is what the Lord says to you, 'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's." II Chron.20:15 It is with Great Love and support that the Potter family encourages you with prayer and God's Word. God Bless! Your friend in His Love, Ann Potter

Be Still and Know - Steven Curtis Chapman

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is holy
Be still oh restless soul of mine
Bow before the Prince of Peace
Let the noise and clamor cease

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is faithful
Consider all that He has done
Stand in awe and be amazed
And know that He will never change
Be still

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is God
Be still
Be speechless

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know He is our Father
Come rest your head upon His breast
Listen to the rhythm of
His unfailing heart of love
Beating for His little ones
Calling each of us to come
Be still

I live in St. Louis and heard about BJ from MercyMe. I just want you (BJ's family) to know that our God is an "Awesome God". He hears the cry of your heart and His will is to heal BJ. Acts 10:38 says: "You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."
BJ is one of those "all" people. He is covered! Stay built up in your faith and the knowledge that God loves BJ even more than you do and His will is to heal. People around the country are praying and believing with you. I will personally continue to stand in the gap for BJ and for you - his family.

God bless, encourage and strengthen you

"The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in Truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them. The Lord watches over all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy." (Psalm 145:14-16)This is my prayer.

Paula and I are thinking and praying for you coninually. If I can offer some words of encouragement; all the days I was unconscious and on a vent, I was never aware of pain or any suffering. In fact when I did wake up I could not believe the number of days that had passed. I did have some wild dreams too so I am sure BJ will as well. I say that to assure you that God has BJ in a safe place and a place of peace right now. If he could could speak to you, I don't have to tell you what he would say do I? I'm ok family! He would also want you all to be taking care of yourselves and getting food and rest. There will be more testing down the road but remember, the same God that allowed the storm, will himself offer a way of escape. There's still a great harvest out there and BJ's work has just begun. It is God who is at work to do His good pleasure. As I may have said to you earlier listen to His voice in the midst of the storm. He is hushing the wind and the waves.......listen and you can hear HIM. I don't see you guys hardly at all but nonetheless I love you with all my heart. If you feel someone reaching out to you...that's just me reaching out a hug for all of you....."Word of God Speak would you pour down like rain, washing my eyes to see, your MAJESTY...to be still and know You're in this place....Please let me stay and REST in Your HOLINESS....WORD OF GOD SPEAK"

I Love You All !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be encouraged that the Lord is Sovereign in all situations. It is in His will for us to suffer. Rejoice, let the light of the Lord shine through you so others ask you how you can be so joyful through this trying time. God hears many prayers for BJ....be encouraged. In christ, Anna

Brent, We are still praying for your precious son and the whole family. It is so encouraging to read your updates and all your comments about God's love and your faith in Him no matter what happens. It is wonderful to read about BJ's devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ and his desire to be a part of leading many others to know Him too. This experience he, and all of you, are going through will lead many to be strengthened in their faith and lead others to a desire to know Him. God bless and be with you all.

I will pray for BJ Higgins.....we all will.

In Matthew 24: 3- 13

Jesus was sitting on the hill called the Mount of Olives. The disciples came to him alone. They said, `Tell us, when will this happen? What will be the sign to show you are coming and that it is the end of this world?'

Jesus answered them, `Take care. Do not let anyone fool you.

Many men will come in my name. They will say, "I am the Christ". They will fool many people.

You will hear about wars. You will hear that war is coming. But do not fear. These things must happen, but that is not yet the end.

One tribe will fight against another tribe. And one country will fight against another country. The people will have no food to eat. Many people will be sick. The earth will shake in many different places.

All these troubles are only the beginning of troubles that will come.

`Then people will trouble you and kill you. All nations will hate you because you are true to me.

Then many people will stop believing. They will give one another over to trouble. They will hate one another.

Many people will come and say they are prophets of God. But they will not be true. They will fool many people.

People will do more and more wrong things and many people will stop loving me.

But the person who keeps on being true to me until the end, that one will be saved.
