Last night, a new family arrived with a 6 day old baby in an emergent situation. The infant was not breathing, and the Dr. had to intubate (put a breathing tube down the throat). The baby did not make it...and the family fell apart. We have been here 30 days, and had not seen this. The other families (including us) wept for them. It hurts so much, and hits so close to home for all of us...but to talk that way diminishes THEIR pain. Jesus, please bring healing to this broken family. I do not know how to survive this situation, but you do Father, and they need your help. Please touch them.

BJ's night was quiet, with the exception of having to have his cvvh circuit changed out as it was ready to clot. This morning he started to bleed some from his chest tube when they moved him a bit for the chest x-ray (no results yet). The bleeding seems to have stopped, but Dr. Ruppel is concerned that he would even bleed for such a seemingly insignificant procedure.

Canula removal, we are being told may not happen until tomorrow at 3pm. That is the first time the 2 surgeons schedules had openings at the same time. However, Dr. Ruppel will try to get them to work it in today. It is discouraging and even maddening to have to wait. We know the Lord is in control, and His will will be done regardless of schedules.

Beej's numbers remain stable. We are so grateful for this.

Praise God for His abiding with us in this time...

Beej's dad

WE WAIT WITH EXPECTATION FOR THE MOVE OF GOD. WE WAIT BELIEVING GOD'S WORD AND KNOWING HE IS ABLE. YES WAITING IS HARD, BUT IT IS IN OUR WAITING THAT WE GAIN STRENGTH AND POWER.
PSALM 27:14 SAYS "WAIT ON THE LORD: BE OF GOOD COURAGE, AND HE SHALL STRENGTHEN THINE HEART: WAIT, I SAY, ON THE LORD."
I KNOW THIS HARD THING TO HEAR AND BEAR. BUT GOD IS WORKING AND MOVING EVEN KNOW.
WE THANK YOU JESUS FOR THE HEALING AND FOR THE GROWTH IN YOU.

My prayer is certainly for this family that had such a short time with their precious baby. Thank you for telling us about it.
I know this waiting is really frustrating, but we know our God is an "On Time" God. I will pray that He allows these two surgeons to adjust their schedules so that BJ can be attended to today.
I'm thankful that for the most part he had an uneventful night.....Now isn't that crazy? God continues to work miracles throughout the night and I call it "uneventful". I'm sorry Lord. Every breath we take is a gift from YOU.
I'll be praying (and checking) throughout the day. I've come to love your family so much. Thanks for allowing me to join you in prayer for beej and the staff and other patients at St. V's

Press On - Selah

When the valley is deep
When the mountain is steep
When the body is weary
When we stumble and fall

When the choices are hard
When we're battered and scarred
When we've spent our resource
When we've given our all

In Jesus name we press on
In Jesus name we press on
Dear Lord, with the prize
Clear before our eyes
We find the strength to press on

STILL praying....

I don't even know you but am praying for you. That's the great thing about being a "family" in the Lord. We are all a part and, believe it or not, we hurt for you. God, I pray for this entire family today. Give them an extra blessed day & show them that you love them in a real way today. Thank you for updating the site so frequently so we'll know how to pray. ~Ally from Ada, OK

Dear Ones,
We are thankful for BJ's stable numbers, and pray the surgeon's
schedules can be worked out for today. We especially want to lift up this family in their loss. We know The Holy Spirit will comfort them, and we pray for His grace to be sufficient for them in their time of need.

We are praying for God's perfect timing in the removal of B.J.'s canula's. Waiting can be so difficult, but God know's just the right time. Our son was in the hospital for 7 1/2 months before we brought him home after he was born. He was in ICU for 6 months of his 7 1/2 month stay. We faced so many seasons of "waiting". Watching him hooked up to machines. Just the sounds of all the machines at times was more than we could bare. But our heavenly Father was SO FAITHFUL. His timing was just right. He's Never early, never late...always right on time. We are praying that schedules will coordinate when the timing is right for B.J. to tolerate everything. May His peace be with you as you wait. We love and are praying for you.

We are so very sorry for the lost life of a little child. We will pray for the pain that that family is going through. These children are not ours, they are Gods and when he wants them, he can take them at any time. That is very had to take at its own. You are in our thoughts and prayers and we pray that all goes very well with both doctors. We thank you God for this day and praise you for all we have, we lift up BJ to you this morning and ask that you will see that all goes well with the surgeons and that no bleeding will take effect. We pray that you are there guiding the dr's as they perform their surgery. We ask for a complete recovery. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen. We pray that all of you have a great day. Remember never lose your faith and always give God the glory and Praise that he deserves.

Our prayers are also with the family who lost their baby so tragically--I know that your faith was a comfort to them at the time also. What a hard thing to see and so hard to know how to comfort them. I pray that God sends the Great Comfortor's spirit to them.

We also continue to pray for BJ and also the family--I feel that God has His hand on you all through this.

1 Chronicles 28:20

This is stuck to my computer screen at work--I am a high school principal--as a reminder that God gives us what we need to do His work--all of the time. He will give to BJ all he needs to do the work He has set for him to do.
