Blood gases are being tested at the top of every hour. So far, the first three gases have been good. This and his oxygen saturation numbers are the primary method for checking how Beej is doing as they dial down the ECMO machine. He will continue to be lowered from ECMO all night long. It is imperative that his blood gases remain high as staying on ECMO is not an option, so bad gas readings indicate little hope of survival.
Jesus we PRAISE YOUR HOLY NAME for these numbers! We beg of You that they continue to remain at good levels, Lord. The most critical hours remain ahead as less and less support will be provided, and more will be required of His body...which You have fearfully and wonderfully made. Please, Father, deliver him from this spiritual battle.

Dear Higgins family,
BJ and your family are being lifted up in prayer by more people than you even know. I will continue to pray as well as pass the word along to our Christian brothers and sisters for them to do the same.
It's so hard to make any sense of but just remember that no matter what takes place, there's not a single solitary thing that God doesn't have full control over. He's got the situation well in hand.

God be with you through this long night. Keep praying....and know that prayers around the world are being prayed for your precious son. My heart is breaking thinking of the anguish and the waiting that you are going through, and all the procedures BJ and his body are going through. But my heart then rejoices knowing that Jesus is in that room with you, praying for you, loving you all, and guiding all of this according to His Will, because you have left it in His hands. As the night goes by, we are praying for good numbers with his ABG levels. Everyone realizes this is the critical night and we are imploring that the Lord will continue to heal BJ so he can continue serving Him. Again, my heart goes out to you all, I know sleeping is not even an option for you tonight. I do pray that you can get some rest, to keep your strength up. Will continue to pray through out the night to keep you lifted up and for the Lord to touch BJ with His healing hands.

Our God is AMAZING!!, i know this just by seeing how you have touched the world, not by doing anything, but through what God is allowing you to experience. i pray i get the chance to meet you, as you have had an enormous! impact on my walk, but i know i will someday get to meet you walking on streets of gold... i pray that God's will is completed through you, and i love you. i'm praying for you more than daily, along w/ my entire campus... and to your family, i want to tell them taht they should hold tight to God!, it's the most important thing ever!!! real missions is letting others see our true identitys (Jesus) in our daily situations... Lord, may your will be done - our desire is for BJ to be healed for your glory. You are our Jehovah Rapha please heal BJ over these night hours. Lift up his family, may Your spirit give them peace, strength, and Your power moment by moment.
My heart races everytime I check the updates of BJ's condition. As it is earlyt morning here, I am praying that BJ's numbers remain strong and he continue to fight. God loves BJ and is caring for Him. Praise His name!

As you and your family watch over BJ, as you hold his hand and pray over him, we not only keep all of you in our prayers but we also weep with you and rejoice with you. Know that all over the world, you have family, the family of God, lifting your family and your son's precious life in constant prayer to our great and almighty Father.
