Beej is out of surgery. They removed a 2 liter bottle worth of clot from his chest cavity. This was literally crushing his left lung. We Praise Jesus for this success. Now we have to pray intensely that this lung recovers...there is the possibility that it will not work.

They could not get a central line in because Bj is sooo swollen. Medical staff think he is a big guy because they did not know him before the swollen young man he is now.
They have an alternate plan that will work.

We await word on ECMO removal.

Little Shelby that many of you prayed for is going home tomorrow. Praise the Lord Jesus for this. She is 2 1/2 and been in the hospital over a month!

We Lift you up Heavenly Father. We thank you for this victory...and now ask that this lung be restored to full function, in Jesus Name!!! Please give the doctors wisdom in the timing of removing ECMO.

You lift us up...

hi, I never met bj but i know about him because a girl at my church went on a mission trip with him and there are many people praying for him here in catoosa Oklahoma, and I think all the praying is what has helped bj make it this far so everyone who reads this don't give up and praise god that bj is still alive!

Gloria a Dios! I'm sure BJ appreciates that clot being removed =) Father, show that there is no struggle too large for You, and no detail too small for You to forget. Be sovereign over every organ, every tissue. Father, reduce the swelling, reduce any pain that BJ might be feeling. Thank you for the doctors and their creativity and training. Everything they've ever known or done is being tested right now. Lord, if you're willing, heal BJ. We know you have all authority, and ask you to do whatever glorifies you the most.

Brent,
Thanks for the quick update. I am heading to small groups and will let them know. Some do not have email. I am thankful that the procedure to remove the clot went well. Will pray for full restoration of the lung. (My dad had that much removed after his lung surgery, he did fine.) Will continue to pray for the wisdom of the medical staff regarding the removal of ecmo. You all are in our thoughts and prayers tonight.

Love, Nancy

Brent, Deanna and Family,
Mom and Dad had told me briefly about BJ's illness, but it wasn't until I was on the "Mercy Me" Website yesterday that I found your blogspot. Know that our family and several others in Terre Haute are now also praying for BJ and the medical professionals who are helping him. I will continue to read your news about him and update those here praying.
