There seems to be a sense among the medical staff that we may have turned the corner. It was even voiced by one of our optomistic medical team members. BJ's bleeding has stopped, and that is huuuuge!!! The perfusionist (they set up the Ecmo machines/circuits and are in charge of training nurses on using them...they are present at all open heart surgeries to run ecmo) says "there is no physiological reason now, that he can't get better." With bleeding under control, and Oxygenation numbers that are where we want them, it should be a matter of time, if we can keep infection out of the equation.

We are hoping to hear this morning about the infection. BJ is a little too warm to the touch this morning, but that could be the blanket...he has been uncovered most ot the time prior to this.

Precious loved ones, please continue to pray against infection, wisdom for the medical staff, and continued endurance for BJ and the rest of us, as we start to glimpse the road to recovery!

Thank you for the worship service last night...what an encouragement...and thanks for all of you who donated blood!

a brother in humbled disbelief of big our God is...

Hey Higgins,

Last night’s service was incredible. Thank you for taking the time and energy to come and let us love on you.

I received the new Casting Crowns CD in the mail yesterday. I started listening to it on the way to work today. As the second track finished, I literally had a face full of tears as I applied the words to your situation. I think Big John is going to try to pick up a copy for you to hear, but I wanted you to at least be able to see the words…

Praise You In This Storm
Mark Hall

I was sure by now
That You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again,
I say “Amen”,
And it’s still raining.

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands
And praise the God
Who gives and takes away.

I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm.

I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry
You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can’t find You

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The maker of heaven and earth.

My prayer is that God can use this to encourage you today. We love you, and we pray for you often.

Dios Dice: CLAMA A MI Y YO TE RESPONDERE Y TE ENSEÑARE COSAS OCULTAS QUE TU NO CONOCES, Dios Tambien ofrece:HE AQUI YO LES TRAERE SANIDAD Y MEDICINA, Y LES CURARE Y LES REVELARE ABUNDANCIA DE PAZ Y DE VERDAD.
Dios tiene grandes cosas para hacer en BJ, en su Familia y en todos nosotros.
Mucha fuerza en Cristo somos vencedores.

Thank you for the updates. We will continue to pray for BJ as well as the rest of the family. We are praising Jesus for this "turn around the corner".

I know that there was a blood drive last night for BJ but for those of us that live so far away, we were not able to participate. Does anyone know of a "giving for BJ" that we could give monetary contributions to help cover medical costs? I know there are many people that would be willing to give as well. If anyone has started that and can post that info on this site, that would be great.

Obviously the Lord is listening and answering all our prayers. The service last night was wonderful and very moving. It was great to see you and the girls, just wish Deanna could have made it. Please give her a big hug from us and tell her we miss her and are definitely praying for her. I pray BJ has actually turned the corner and it is downhill from here. Hello to BJ and Family!
I am a Missions student here at Ozark Christian College. I just wanted to let you guys know that many of us here have been praying for BJ and you as his family. We will continue to pray and are praising God today because we heard that he is slowly improving.

I would also like to encourage you if I can... I know that with God there is a purpose, reason, and time that all things happen. As a soon to be missionary myself.. I am seeing the progressing power of Satan and his desires to claim the lives that belong to God. He is terrified that he's going to loose!! And for that I'm so excited.. BJ's life is from what I can tell.. sold out to Jesus! And in HIS arms he rests. I can only imagine what is going on in BJ's head and the thoughts that he might be having.. if God is just speaking to him and giving him amazing peace or what. But that's what I hope for!! I will be praying that the enemy won't win; with the lose of another missionary. As well as a quick recovery and continual support on future potential missions!!
God Bless you all and My love and prayers go out to you!

Psalm 40

1 I waited patiently for the LORD;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.

3 He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear
and put their trust in the LORD.

4 Blessed is the man
who makes the LORD his trust,
who does not look to the proud,
to those who turn aside to false gods. [a]

5 Many, O LORD my God,
are the wonders you have done.
The things you planned for us
no one can recount to you;
were I to speak and tell of them,
they would be too many to declare.

6 Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,
but my ears you have pierced [b] , [c] ;
burnt offerings and sin offerings
you did not require.

7 Then I said, "Here I am, I have come—
it is written about me in the scroll. [d]

8 I desire to do your will, O my God;
your law is within my heart."

9 I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly;
I do not seal my lips,
as you know, O LORD.

10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart;
I speak of your faithfulness and salvation.
I do not conceal your love and your truth
from the great assembly.

11 Do not withhold your mercy from me, O LORD;
may your love and your truth always protect me.

12 For troubles without number surround me;
my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see.
They are more than the hairs of my head,
and my heart fails within me.

13 Be pleased, O LORD, to save me;
O LORD, come quickly to help me.

14 May all who seek to take my life
be put to shame and confusion;
may all who desire my ruin
be turned back in disgrace.

15 May those who say to me, "Aha! Aha!"
be appalled at their own shame.

16 But may all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who love your salvation always say,
"The LORD be exalted!"

17 Yet I am poor and needy;
may the Lord think of me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
O my God, do not delay.

So many of us are lifting BJ and you all up to the Lord. Can there be any doubt that our Lord is about to do a great and might work in and through you.

Remember......"You are my strength when I am weak, You are the treasure that I seek, You are my ALL in ALL.Seeking you as a precious jewel Lord to give up I'd be a fool, YOU arfe my all in all....We love you...Phil and Paula

Brent, Deanna & girls - How great is our God! What wonderful news to awaken to this morning! After the day we had Tuesday, I'm reminded of the verse that says "weeping may endure for the night, but joy cometh in the morning". We celebrate with you the goodness of God and continue to keep you lifted before the throne in prayer. All of our love - carol

Is. 6 - In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
And one cried to another and said:
"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!"
And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out.
He is still on the throne and His train still fills the temple!

HELLO FAMILY OF BJ.
We continue praying hard for BJ, last night we had a very beautiful worship where all the brothers of the church prayed exclusively for a miracle of the Master in the Life of BJ. We read the Word of God in JEREMIAH 33:3 AND 6 and we called out to God to do a miracle. God Says: Call unto me and I will answer you and show you hidden things that you do not know. God also says Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.

God has great things to do in BJ, in your family and in all of us. Much strength in Christ - we are winners.

That Casting Crowns song reminds me a lot of BJ's song, "Storm."

It's fantastic news we've heard. All I want to do is rejoice because of it.

I want to just share a song that BJ and I wrote together, but never got to perform.

"Struggles of a Loving Heart"

Place your healing hand upon me
Cast away the demons that haunt me
I can't worship the God that I love
When satan puts all these thoughts into my head

So guide me,
Show me where I should I be
I will cry to you outloud
Hopefully I will find you (I know I will find you)

It seems that I've lost my place
With the world that hates my face
I try so hard, but it's not enough,
Help me Lord, be couragous Enough

So guide me,
show me where - I should be
I will cry out to you my Lord
Faithfully I will seek you

..I don't know where to go or turn
I can't find anyone else to blame
Becoming bitter every day
God, can't you take these things away?
Please, wash these things away
God please wash me today

So guide me,
show me where - I should be
I will cry out to you my Lord
Faithfully I will seek you

Rejoice,
Jack

Higgins,

First, I just wanted to let your family know that you are all in my prayers daily, as well as the doctors that are taking care of BJ... secondly, Raphael Health Center, the family practice health center that I was at for the month of August, is a christian based family practice, and every Thursday we had a bible study and prayer time before we saw patients for the day. Last thursday, I let them all know about BJ's condtition and asked them all to pray for him as well as lift your family up in prayer. A few days later, one of the medical assistants stopped me before I went in to see a patient and wanted an update on BJ. Although it was my last day there, she informed me that they were going to start saying a daily prayer over the intercom in the health center for BJ, and wanted me to keep them updated weekly about you all.

I just wanted to let you all know that you are being lifted up in prayer by a medical center downtown daily... God is amazing at being able to spread the news of a family in need at a very quick pace!! Love you all and keep up your amazing faith... erin

Stay strong and keep fighting. God's arms are wrapped around you tight and they will keep you safe. So many people are praying and sending their love to BJ and his family.
I heard this song on the way home from the awesome service last night and it just stuck with me:

" You never said it would be easy,
But you'd see me through the storm.

And even though I'm walking through
the valley of the shadow
I will hold tight to the hands of him
Whose love will cover me.

And when all hope is gone
and I've been losing in the battle
He is all the strength that I will ever need,
He will carry me."

Love to all,
Danielle
P.S. Mitchell can't wait to see BJ!! :-)

Hey,
I am from Hannibal LaGrange College. I heard about BJ at a pray service that we had on campus for him the other day. I am so glad to hear that he is recovering. I have been thinking about and praying for him. It is amazing to hear how God has used BJ in the lives of my friends on mission trips. It was just amazing to see how the students on the campus pulled together to pray for someone that many of us had never met. I have been thinking about BJ and family since that time. I can see how God is using your family, even in the time of struggle, to help so many people across the country and from other countries go to God in prayer. It has also made me think several times of how remedial many "problems" that we face daily really are. Just hang in there. There are SO many people praying for BJ.

Read Jeremiah 32:27
Then the Lord said to me,"I am the LORD, the God of the whole human race. Nothing is too difficult for me."
