The Catheter is in!!! Praise God. They ended up having to use the external jugular, which they did not want to do as it was the internal jugular that the canula had been in, and had to be tied off as it was in poor shape. We are thankful. Dialysis, or the Cvvh machine is back on line.

Pray that the swelling goes down quickly. That with reduced bloodflow being able to leave his head that he does not experience any more complications (pressure issues, etc.). Please continue to pray for his kidneys to restart.

Thanks for your prayers in an unexpected discouraging time.

please continue to leave your name, city, state or country for mapping for BJ.

Praying for BJ in Arlington, Texas. Your courage and faith are an inspiration to me. I went through 156 days with a micro-preemie last year and I know how it can be sitting bedside when one you love is so very ill. My little guy made it through...God is awfully good. Know that many many are praying for your strength, and for the doctors to make accurate diagnoses. Hang in there!

Father we pray that the swelling goes down quickly & that BJ does not experience any more complications. Lord God you formed BJ's kidneys and all his inner most parts. I now pray that they begin to function once again. In no more than a thought you can make it so. Thank you that the catheter is in place. I know this has been such a trying and draining day for the Higgins family. Please, please Lord God, some how give them peace and the ability to rest. Cradle them in your arms. Even though BJ's eyes may be closed I know his spirit is still sharp and receptive as ever. BJ...please know how much everyone loves you and keep fighting brother draw strength from the literal thousands who are praying for you!!! Just as in the play where good was struggling against evil and won so also shall you prevail over the forces of evil. Here these words dear brother as I close and send love in Jesus name.......

God will make a way,
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way, He will make a way.
By a roadway in the wilderness, He'll lead me
And rivers in the desert will I see
Heaven and earth will fade
But His Word will still remain
He will do something new today.

God will make a way,
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way, He will make a way
We love you....Phil & Paula

Let the DRAINING BEGIN! Someday this discussion might be kind of embarrassing to BJ, but for now...we just want him to enroll in Urination University, PASS the course, and GRADUATE!

Maybe we're a little nuttier than usual because we just feel so relieved....uh, bad choice of words.

Anyway! Praise to God for his Goodness, Praise for the doctors' abilities, Praise for his new "sleepin'-on-a-cloud" bed, Praise for devoted parents, Praise for God providing encouragement; Praise for faithful believers holding each other before the Throne of God; Praise for the beauty and instruction of His Word; Praise for Jesus!

We're continuing to pray . . . it's a must!

Brent & Deanna,

It is nice to see Christians have a sense of humor, some of the previous blogs are pretty funny.
I think everyone is feeling a little relieved that some progress is being made. I hope you both feel the same way. I know there is a long way to go but you won't do it alone. You have a great support system and for that I am thankful. God has been with you all the way and he will continue to be there supporting and lifting you all up. You also have support from all these people around the world, what an amazing thing. We will continue praying for healing of BJ, lessening complications, return of renal function, and for your continued strength and health.
I know how exhausting this has to be on all of you. Please don't hesitate to call if I can do anything at all for you. Love you guys.

Love, Nancy

Psalm 121

1 I lift up my eyes to the hills — where does my help come from?

2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot slip — he who watches over you will not slumber;

4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The LORD watches over you — the LORD is your shade at your right hand;

6 the sun will not harm you by day,nor the moon by night.

7 The LORD will keep you from all harm — he will watch over your life;

8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
