BJ has had a mostly stable day. While we were at dinner tonight, his pneumo's caused his left lung to partially collapse, so his SAT's dropped into the 80's. However, after increasing the ventilator pressure a bit, the numbers returned to the 90's. Dr. Sichting believes that we came down too much, too fast on his ventilator pressure today. He's been doing so well, so it was understandable to us that they would do so. Deanna believes it had more to do with the suctioning of his lungs. He is notoriously slow at rebounding after lung suctioning that produces quite a bit of fluid. Tonight, for the first time in a couple days, the RT got quite a bit of fluid. Deanna has always had a moms sixth sense on such things, so who knows. I guess we'll find out what the morning x-ray reveals.

Anyway, have a good night, and an AWESOME worship time tomorrow!

We left on a family trip to an amusement park EARLY this am. . .no checking "pray for BJ" until late tonight--withdrawal? I definitely did not take this time with my children for granted knowing that BJ's family (and many others) are spending hours and days and weeks in the hospital--or gathering with family and friends for services like the one for Jayden (praying for them as well).

God has burdened me this week to pray for all those other parents and siblings waiting and praying--so many in so many hospitals, many without Christ. Please God, make BJ better so he can "go and tell." Give us the same burden of service that he has, Lord.

We prayed for BJ throughout the day (pink shirts were a special reminder). I will have to add that once when our two youngest daughters returned from a somewhat extended trip to the restroom, they told us they had been in there doing the "pee pee dance" for BJ!

It was great to read all the updates tonight. God is at work. I wish we could come by and visit you after church tomorrow, but it's kind of a long trip. . .will definitely continue in prayer. . .

Kent and Amy's blog for Shelby led me to B.J.'s site. I have been praying for B.J. since I first heard about him a month ago. Thank you for allowing all of us "strangers" to daily read about your family and how we can pray for all of you. Your testimony throughout the postings over and over again reveals how awesome Jesus is and how he can show his power. You are witnessing for the Kingdom of God even as you sit in a quiet hospital room on a Friday night. I thank you for sharing parts of B.J.'s journal. They are and encouragement to me. I pray that my 12 yr. old son will read these postings and also be challenged and encouraged, as I am sure other young ones have. God bless you and your family. Sleep well and may He continue to give you peace.

Lord, bless this family with Your peace and touch BJ with Your healing touch. It is by your stripes that he is healed. I proclaim that healing in Jesus Name. satan, you are a liar and a deceiver and you have no place or authority in BJ's body or life and I rebuke you in the power and authority of Jesus' Name. We will believe the report of the Lord...

Brent and Deanna,
I am glad to see B.J. have such a positive weekend. We continue to pray for each of you and I pray that you all have a restful night. We were at the store tonight and I saw a T-shirt that reminded me of Brent and B.J.
It was a pink shirt (unfortunately in the mens section) and it read "ONLY REAL MEN WEAR PINK". I immediately showed it to Becky and we laughed.
We couldn't wait to get home to get the update on B.J.
Rest peacefully as God watches over you.
Your Friend!

I am so incouraged by your families standing faith through such a difficult time. So many times in my life, I have felt so discouraged in my walk with Christ in difficult times. God is using this time for yall to be an incouragement to many. I am praying for yall. I know that God is going to turn this situation into something great. How great it is that BJ is able to be a witness to people, even when he is sick.

Dear Jesus,

Thank you for the last few days of healing BJ. Please keep him in your tender care all through the night. Breathe gently into his lungs and help them to work effectively. Drain his extra fluids to relieve his body from the pressure. Watch over him to keep him from developing any complications.

Bless his precious family with rest, peace and reassurance that you perfect Will is being completed in your servant, BJ.

Bathe them all in our Perfect Love.

Lord, we praise You for the rest You have given BJ's body. Please continue to strengthen him. Please give the doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel eyes to see all that is going on--that they would be discerning and wise in all their decisions. Thank you for uniting Your body in this--I pray that, even though BJ has been doing well, that You would continue to quicken our hearts to pray for him. Strengthen us, and show us when and what to pray. We praise You for all You are doing, and we praise You for the gift of BJ. Please give the Higgins family rest tonight--reenergize their hearts, spirits, and bodies, and remind them that they have all of Heaven on their side!

PS~I am all over the B-day card thing. Oh man is the hospital mailroom going to be annoyed with us!

Thankful for a good day for B.J. and praying that you all have a wonderful day today. May the Holy Spirit touch B.J. in a special way. May B.J. feel his presence all around him. May you and your family have a beautiful time in the Lord's presence at church this morning. Let the people of your church just love on you...we all need that. When our son was in the hospital for all those months I would feel guilty if I wasn't there as soon as "rounds and report time" was over. At first I would go to just for the worship time of service and leave for the hospital. I just felt better being in the lobby. Then I progressed to staying for the message and would leave when the Pastor gave the altar call and get to the hospital. I finally progressed to staying for the whole service, all the while wanting to be at the hospital, but knowing that I needed to be filled. My mom gave me some of the best advise I have ever had. She said to me "honey, you can't be there for Daniel (our son) when he needs you if you yourself are not healthy." Just sitting at the hospital at times is draining even when things are smooth. I pray that while you and Deanna are away from the hospital that you would have peace, that you would have a refreshing, and that you would have laughter.

B.J. has been blessed with exceptional parents, just as you have been blessed with an exceptional child. The Lord is so good.

Have a blessed day!

I recieved your website throught the Wabash Valley Convention of Southern Baptist in Northwest Indiana. I wanted to add my town as you suggested. We live in Remington, Indiana. It was just overwhelming reading the website, picking it up on day 30 and going back. Your faith is an inspiration. As a mother, I wept with you when I read it. It's so difficult to pray for God's will in times like these; so tempting to just expect God to heal on our time line. I can't begin to imagine your pain, anxiety, and still the awsome feeling of comfort and closeness you must have with the Lord right now. God is good! Always!
Praying for you daily, Bobbi Best
