It's been a busy night. BJ's blood is not perfusing well. The result is icy feet and fingers. His blood pressure has dropped significantly. Perhaps due to the removal of too many fluids too quickly. He also has another new side affect or two that are complicating things. He has been restarted on antibiotics because there is concern that some of his issues are related to new bacterial infections. The problem with that as you may know now, is that it increases the likelihood of fungal issues. He has also become very sensitive to the sedation drugs (not uncommon).

Lord, we have much to come before you with this morning. BJ really needs your intervention. Please bring healing to his body, bring him relief quickly, please God?
Please bless the medical staff and give them wisdom.

We Love you,

BJ's dad

BJ profundamente necesita a tu intervención. ¡Por favor entrega sanidad a su cuerpo, des ayuda y confort ahora, oh Dios! Que bendigas los médicos y enfermeras y das saludaría.

God we do pray this a.m. and ask that you intervene once again today on BJ's behalf, your word says when 2 or more are gathered there you will be also, so we look forward to your presence and the way you will show your miraculous healing power to this family today. Amen
2 Cor. 12:9 says "But he said to me, My grace is enough for you. When you are weak, my power is made perfect in you. So I am happy to brag about my weaknesses. Then Christ's power can live in me.
God is good and we know that BJ is weak and yet it is through this time we can see the power of God working in his body and in your life as you continue to place your trust in Him. God bless you today and we will also lift up your girls as they return to school.

Thank you Father, for putting Your touch on Bj's life. Even though I've never met Him, being able to read parts of his journal has shown me how much he loves you, Lord. And to know that this brother in Christ is willing and ready to follow you is something so exciting. Once long ago You gave me a miracle and a second chance at life. Lord, today I pray that You would do the same for Bj. Heal him, God. I know that if You do, Bj wil use it for Your glory. Be with the Higgins family, and let Your love wrap around them and comfort them, giving them the strength they need to go on. Lord, I am so thankful that Bj knows You. Thank you for sending Your son so that Bj - and all the world - could have eternal life. We love You, Lord.

Amen.

Please touch this son of yours! Breathe new life into every area of his precious body. We stand in the gap for this family. May your unending love and strength surround them and comfort them. We love you Lord, and we know that you are neither anxious nor worried. Please help us to lean not on our own understanding, but rather to acknowledge you in everything. In Jesus' name. Amen

I am praying--for BJ, this new problem, and for you and your family as you lose Lauren to university. I will pray for her too as she has to be away from you all and has to be focused on her lessons. God is with you. God has a purpose. I loved the message from a woman whose daughter went through a tough time and the doctors were so negative. She was so right. God loves BJ and has a purpose for his life!

In His love,

Christina

God,
I just pray that as BJ has to fight these new problems that his body will react to the treatment that he is being given by the doctors. I ask that you will give the doctors and staff of the hospital an understanding of what would be best. I pray that even as BJ is laying in that hospital bed that he and his family will continue to demonstrate their faith in You to the medical staff. I can't help but wonder if there are people on the staff that are being dealt with by the Holy Spirit through this wonderful family's outlook and faith that they are showing even through the sickness of their son/brother. I pray that you will restore circulation and that you will help BJ to make a full recovery. In Jesus name.
Amen

I just want to encourage you guys to keep telling the medical staff about BJ's Jesus. I will be praying for your family and BJ.

Heather

Although I have not been in your exact situation, my son has also been seriously ill early on in his life. As we stood helplessly by, the doctors worked feverishly to keep him alive. But we weren't helpless at all; we prayed..and prayed..and prayed. And others prayed as well, just as we all are now for BJ. And God was glorified then, just as He is glorified now and will be glorified in the days and weeks to come. Stay strong - we'll keep lifting you up to the Holy One!

This song has been in my head all weekend. My pastor taught this weekend on praising and praying from the pits. We have victory because even when we're exhausted, feeling beat down, hopeless, He is compassionate and we can sing of His faithfulness. BJ, right now I sing this over you:

Great is Thy faithfulness, Oh God my Father.
There is no shadow of turning with Thee.
Thou changest not, Thy compassions they fail not.
As Thou has been, Thou forever will be.

Great is Thy faithfulness, great is Thy faithfulness.
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand has provided.
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me.

Dear Lord,
Please put your healing hand on my brother and friend BJ. Keep new infections away from his body so that he can rest and heal. Take away any complications that he has from healing so that he can heal 100% so that he can continue to serve you and tell others about your Son. Lord, we know that Satan has no authority over BJ that you have not given him. I ask you right now to bind Satan from attacking BJ. Protect him. Please comfort BJ's family right now, I can't imagine how hard this must be on them if it's this hard on me. Please don't let the body of Christ give up on bringing BJ before you in prayer even when they hear good news. We must be pryaing continually. I love you Lord and thank you for bringing glory to your Name through this situation.
Amen

Deanna and Brent, I sit at home reading your updates and I read the comments about the medical staff. As one of BJ's many nurses, I wanted you to know the difference you all and BJ especially have made in my life. As a PICU nurse, I often find myself questioning God and asking why bad things happen to good people. Your family is a prime example of this. It wears me out to care for sick and dying children day in and day out. I have often thought of doing a different type of nursing because of it. But then I meet someone like you all. And while I have yet to have had the privilege to actually carry on a conversation with BJ, I know that I'd like him.

The world needs more people in it who want to glorify our Lord in anyway possible. I know in my heart that God has amazing things in mind for BJ and reading these posts just proves it. He has united an entire world just by way of his story. Stay strong, I'll continue to check in while I'm home. It's my link to him while I'm off. Before I left Monday am, I whispered in his ear to keep fighting, and we all know that patients listen to their nurses. ;o) Melissa

Almighty Father,

Right now I come to you on behalf of BJ. His body is weak and tormented, and yet we know that You are the divine healer. Bring relief from infections that would hinder the healing process. Give the medical team wisdom to adjust medications and treatment to overcome the problems with blood pressure and other issues. May they sense another Presence guiding their movements and their decisions.

Strengthen Brent and Deanna as their emotions are flung from the highs to the lows and their bodies are weary from the long days and nights of their hospital vigil. May they find themselves enveloped in Your powerful and loving arms, and in You may they find peace and rest for their bodies and souls.

Be with Whitney and Lauren in the difficult task of trying to attend university classes and complete assignments when their hearts are far from the classroom and with their brother. May they find in You the endurance they need for each new day and rest when they lay their heads on their pillows at night.

Father, supply every need that each of these dear ones has according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

And we will continue to give You all the honor, the glory, and the praise, for You alone are worthy! Amen.

I love you all. My heart is with you in this battle.

Becky

Our Dear Soveriegn Lord,

We lift you up in praise and worship because we know that you are able to heal BJ as well as receive him into your kingdom. We ask that you allow this young missionary of Your work to remain with us and teach us through his experience. We also ask that during this time of waiting, You continue to strengthen his family and the lives of others that BJ's story touches.

We ask this of you Dear Lord in your Son, Jesus Christ's name.
