BJ's blood gas levels have dropped through the night. His blood oxygen saturation percentage as well. About an hour and a half ago they put him on Nitric oxide to try to open his blood vessels further. The result was a 3 point climb in his saturation percentage and a 4 point climb in the blood gas. We are thankful for this, Lord.

They have increased the ventilation pressure (which risks a pneumothorax). His ECMO
numbers started at 6, and have been dialed down to 2.5. The number will continue to be lowered, and we really need for his blood gas (PO2) to increase, not decrease.

Thank you brothers and sisters for watching through the night with us. Thank you for loving and serving Jesus.

We're continually praying (and agonizing) with you...Don't have the words to express it, but may you all feel God's all-encompassing love, and also that of your extended family in Christ. Wish we were there in person! We've been feeling that throughout this week...

Still praying for BJ's life.

Higgins family, you are truly an inspiration to us all, and surely to those who come in contact with you there at the hospital.

Lots of hugs,

Praying and fasting today...

I have to say, though, that the coming together of so many Christians--many who don't know BJ personally--is so beautiful. I know BJ's going to get a kick out of this!

I prayed as the dawn brought us to another day that your son and family may continue to receive God's blessings, even as obscured as that might seem right now.
I will be thinking and praying with you as time marches on today.

Listening to a minister days ago, she used this acronym for fear.
False Evidence Appearing Real. That's what fear is, and fear is from satan. For Our God said that He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. Real evidence is what Jesus holds in his hands and that is the power of restoration!! Thank God that we can depend upon that. Father, we Know that we can depend upon you. We trust you and believe that you not only can but will heal B.J. We thank you right now for increasing his blood oxygen levels and restoring full function to his lungs. We acknowledge your goodness and your mercy and thank you for comforting Deanna, Brent, Whitney and Lauren during these difficult hours. Please give them peace and allow your joy to become their strength.

"Because he loves me" says the Lord, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."
Psalm 91:14-15

Father,
We continue to thank you for your amazing promises.

Still praying with love,

Lord I just pray that as BJ continues to fight for good numbers that his family will be calm and peaceful during this trying time. I pray that You will defeat Satan as he is against the well being of BJ because BJ is such a servant of you. Give BJ the strength to make it through today and his family a little rest bc I am sure it has been a long night.

We are friends of the Koteskeys and live in Wilmore, Kentucky. We have followed your updates with much interest and concern. I have been praying and surely did during last night and will continue this day. God is good! I have been inspired by your testimony and commitment. BJ sounds like such a wonderful boy and it would seem the Lord surely needs young people like this. Our prayers will continue to be with you all.

In July I went with a group of teenagers from Awestar to Panama. So I know the kind of work B.J. was doing. And it was glorious. We saw God work in many miraculous ways. BJ saw God work on his trip too. Words are a poor medium when we speak about being involved with God in His work. I know BJ feels this way also. One of the boys who went with us to Panama stood up in youth group(here in Texas) the last two Wednesday nights and told about BJ's progress and asked for prayer for him. We are all part of God's family. You're in our prayers.
