The bleeding continues but has slowed a bit. They are still working on it.

The Perfusionist just told me that his lungs are improving and that his numbers in that regard are up a bit. We are pleased with this. His X-rays today showed little change, but Deanna and I listened to his lungs with a stethescope, and could hear more breath sounds than a couple of days ago. (hows that for a medical opinion?)

Thank you Frank Lemca for translating the blogs for our spanish speaking brothers and sisters in Christ. What a blessing to us. It has been an encouragement to hear from Peruvian believers. BJ's heart has been broken for the lost people in Peru, but lifted up by the many who accepted Jesus as Lord, and the churches who disciple them.

May the Lord richly bless you for your persistant prayers!

The Greater Indianapolis Emmaus Community is lifting BJ up in prayer. Brad has meant so much to the GIAEC, this is the very least we can do. May Gods healing hands touch BJ.

The brothers and sisters at Parkside Baptist continue to lift up BJ, the Higgins family, and the medical staff daily. Thank you for the updates. They help us pray more specifically and they give us the assurance that God is answering the thousands of prayers being offered up for BJ. May He continue to give BJ healing and your family stamina and strength!

Praise the Lord for BJ's successes! As I’ve been following BJ’s progress, the following passage of Scripture continues to be laid upon my heart:
“So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up – one on one side, one on the other – so that his hands remained steady till sunset. So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword. Exodus 17:10-13 NIV.
Seems like kind of an odd passage to be reminded of over and over. But then I thought, you know, every time I read about or hear a bit of good news for BJ, I rejoice and am relieved and then I let my guard down a little and I must confess, I loosen up on my prayers for you and your family, with a smug little feeling that everything’s going to be alright now. Then I read about a little setback and I’m right back in the trenches full force, offering all I have to the Lord, to intercede on your behalf. Then, more good news and the cycle begins again. As I look at the Exodus passage, it occurs to me that perhaps I’m not alone in letting my prayer guard down upon hearing the successes. “As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.” It’s the same way with BJ (follow me with this logic). As long as the Body of Christ’s prayers remain strong, BJ’s body is strengthened, but as we slack off in our intercessory prayers, the illness gains a stronger foothold. I don’t know, maybe I am the only one who ceases to be as diligent when everything seems calm. Just a thought to everyone out there - we all need to remain steadfast in our prayers for BJ and his family, even when everything is positive. I need to remain steadfast.

Brent, Deanna, Lauren, Whitney and BJ, please know that as the Lord has shown this to me, I have a renewed strength and vigor to “pray without ceasing” for each of you. Thank you so much for keeping us so up-to-date on BJ’s progress. Keep holding your arms up!

Praise God for the excellent progress! May His name be praised and glorified. We understand that BJ is not completely in the clear yet and as such we need to continue to pray as hard as ever! His rehab is going to be a tough fight and he'll need our prayers throughout that time as well. We will add BJ to our prayer list throughout this time.

Praise Jesus!!

Dear BJ and your family,
Isn't it awesome to know that we are never alone - that God is with us as well as the family of God around the world. We pray that the Lord would touch your body right now, in the name of Jesus, our healer, our physician, our God in whom we trust and heal you BJ.
