My favorite Dr. came in a couple of minutes ago and said, "he's doing pretty well."
That was a blessing to us. Yes we know there are all sorts of issues ahead, and that things aren't perfect, but to have the ECMO Dr. tell you that, and that the complications he's experiencing are expected, is a real blessing! It will help us rest a little easier tonight!

I lift up Praise to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for the legion of brothers and sisters here and around the world who are holding us up. Truly, the peace of Christ passes all understanding.

There are several sisters in Christ who are wearing nurse uniforms at St. Vincent's Hospital who have overwhelmed us with the Lord's love, support, and encouragement. They laugh with us, cry with us, and check on us to make sure we are coping. It is no accident that they are here. They are true to their calling, their ministry. It is no coincidence that we are here. Isn't God AMAZING?! Jesus is so cool!

g'night,

This is my first time to write, but we have been praying for you consistently since we learned of BJ's illness. Our life group is also praying for you. Brent, when I think of a true Christ follower, you are a person that immediately comes to mind. From the things I have heard, it sounds like BJ is a chip off of the block. We love you guys and pray for God's healing. I wish I could give you a big hug! Our hearts are with you.

I just read your updates for today. I prayed for BJ this morning at church. I can't seem to get him off of my mind. I am sure that the Holy Spirit is keeping him at the forefront of my thoughts so that I am continually going to the Father in BJ's behalf.

To read BJ's journal entry made me cry. These are sentiment my daughter, Rachel, expresses when she is on mission trips. She always sends us a letter from her training site. Each time she states that she wants us not to worry because no matter what happens to her, she is in God's will.

BJ is the same. You must be so proud to have reared such an awesome young man. He is as awesome as Rachel has portrayed him to be.

I pray that you and your family, along with BJ have a peacefull night's sleep. Let God's arms hold you and comfort you as you sleep tonight.

I will continue to pray for you all and your medical staff.

In Christ,

God I pray that tonight you will continue to heal BJ's body. I pray that the heart rate will return to normal and that the kidneys will begin to function again. Guide the surgeons' hands as they fix the veins because with your guidance we know the chances are no longer 50% but instead 100% of them working properly again. Continue to comfort his family.

Brent & Deanna,

Yes, Jesus is cool! And amazing and any other adjective you can think of! Just wanted to check on BJ one last time tonight before starting my homeschooling tasks. I really pray that you and Deanna can rest well tonight, you certainly deserve it! Will keep praying that BJ stays stable, gains strength, and things start to normalize in his body. I am glad you have a good support system there with the nurses. That's why most nurses go into the profession, they have a servant's heart, I should know! Have a quiet and restful evening. God Bless!

Just think, the very words that BJ wrote about 'bringing God glory through suffering'...
is EXACTLY what his family has done through his sickness.

IT has been an INCREDIBLE blessing to read the posts that BJ's dad, Brent and Lauren have written. My faith, my hope in Jesus, my PRAISES, have all been so uplifted and increased!

Thank you so much for your faith.. you are passing on...
to others...
through your son's (and brother's)
suffering. It is SO obvious God has His hand on all of you.

We LOVE praying for your precious boy...and will continue to do so until he is completely healed!

hi fam!

you guys are gonna get a kick out of this...

our church is adding on to our chapel... and in the back there isn't any carpet...only the concrete sub-floor. Our Pastor asked our congregation to write the name or names of people they are praying for that they would like to see come to fill the new chapel (either new people...or ones we haven't seen for awhile)

well...landee and cladee didn't quite get the jist of it.... so they wrote BJ....then someone explained it better to them... so landee went on ahead to write other names of people she wanats to share Jesus with....

but tonight we were back there for a meeting... at the end of the meeting i walked in the room to see what they were doing... and they have decorated the entire floor with the initials ...BJ...
and PRAY FOR BJ...
in every color available...and all different styles...

BJ...I could just picture you chuckling out loud seeing these little girls doodling your name all over the place....talk about passion and persistence!
(hope our pastor chuckles too)

we love you all!
hugs...marla

I just wrote, sorry I forgot to say I'm from San Diego, CA - I'd love to see the results of your mapping efforts one of these days.

I had sunstroke and heatstroke when I was a Freshman in HS while preparing for a missions trip. The Drs. said I would have nerve damage, brain damage or die, but God COMPLETELY healed me! I wasn't suppose to be able to have children and I just had my second this last July. I am 30 and doing very well. There is hope for BJ! I will continue to pray!!! I just wrote him in my prayer notebook! He is first on this page! - Nicole, San Diego, CA
