Another chest tube has been added...the right side this time. Upon placement, an air pocket immediately began to release. Another pneumothorax had developed and this released the pressure. The lung is doing well at this point. The left side continues to drain, but the right side is relativley clear. His lungs are sounding clearer as well, the nurses tell us.

His ECMO pump has been turned down to 40% and his oxygenation remains in the wanted range. We are thrilled with this. His lungs are beginning to function, and staff will continue to challenge them. Yeah!!!

Have a blessed Sunday evening!

My God shall supply all your needs, according to his riches in Glory. He will give His angels charge over thee. Jehovah Jirah cares for you. A praise song I learned many years ago and it just recently came to my mind again.

Lord I ask you to keep this family in your firm grip. Lord, hold them close to you. We continue to believe that you will address the new problems that have arisen just as you have so faithfully answered our prayers before. I thank you for the impact this whole situation is having on the staff at St. V's and for the many, many of us who visit this sight and are being called to greater accountability. You are greatly to be praised. Amen

God has his hand on BJ! But we won't let up on our prayer...even when we hear good news! We continue to thank God for how far he has brought BJ already and ask him to continue healing him. I'm praying for all of you. I love you all.
